Stunted growth, or other problems.
Hey guys.
im pretty new to this forum, so first of, if this is in the wrong section, just let me know, and i'll move it. Im not here to cause problems.
I want to know about cycles stunting my growth, so i have looked over some of the steroids in the "steroids profile forum". perhaps you need my goals as well? right now, im 6'0 tall, 175lbs, 13%BF. I am looking to get into single digits for BF as well as get over 200 for weight. Also, since im only 18, would it be wise to hold off on starting a cycle until im older. If not, could you all point me in the correct direction as to what cycle would be good for me. And if so, then what legal supps should i take in the meantime.
I should probably also mention that strength is important to me as well.
Thanks in advance for the help, and again, if this is in the incorrect spot, just let me know!
Thanks.
n.
EDIT: and let me re-enforce, i want to reach my natural potential before starting on a cycle...i just dont know if i am there yet.Last edited by nd95450; 10-08-2007 at 12:55 AM.

Aromatizable steroids will stunt growth due to estrogen formation.
Since you are only 18 and willing to know if it would be wise to start a cycle, I will say NO. It's not wise. Hold off until you are at least 24/25, by then, with the proper traning and diet you should be way beyond your actual goals.
To point you in the right direction...check out the diet and training foruns, lots of useful info there. Good luck.

I'd say three more years of a strict regimen and at 21 your go. Most will say older, but if ur overly anxious who's gonna stop you?

Thanks Baron. Yeah, I'm really not to overly zealous to start cycles yet. Its just, I am a hard lifter, and I'm just not satisfied with the results that i am getting.

Somebody prove me wrong if I am, but estrogen is the culprit of the closing of the growth plates.

Here it is:
Estrogen is critical for epiphyseal fusion in both young men and
women. In this study, we explored the cellular mechanisms by
which estrogen causes this phenomenon. Juvenile ovariectomized
female rabbits received either 70 mg/kg estradiol cypionate or
vehicle i.m. once a week. Growth plates from the proximal tibia,
distal tibia, and distal femur were analyzed after 2, 4, 6, or 8 weeks
of treatment. In vehicle-treated animals, there was a gradual
senescent decline in tibial growth rate, rate of chondrocyte proliferation,
growth plate height, number of proliferative chondrocytes,
number of hypertrophic chondrocytes, size of terminal
hypertrophic chondrocytes, and column density. Estrogen treatment
accelerated the senescent decline in all of these parameters.
In senescent growth plates, epiphyseal fusion was observed to be
an abrupt event in which all remaining chondrocytes were rapidly
replaced by bone elements. Fusion occurred when the rate of
chondrocyte proliferation approached zero. Estrogen caused this
proliferative exhaustion and fusion to occur earlier. Our data
suggest that (i) epiphyseal fusion is triggered when the proliferative
potential of growth plate chondrocytes is exhausted; and (ii)
estrogen does not induce growth plate ossification directly; instead,
estrogen accelerates the programmed senescence of the
growth plate, thus causing earlier proliferative exhaustion and
consequently earlier fusion.
