That is obvious, you didnt need to point that out, as you have noticed after I was told i was stupid for thinking about steroids in the first place, I was told what I should do.

hey now, he is listening to us... there is no need to call him an idiot now..... and hey kid... most weight gainers will have whey protien in it... my weight gainer has 250 grams of carbs, 1200 cals, and 50 grams ofprotien in it, plus vitamins and minerals, with no added sugar....

Read my other thread about going to the darkside if you want to read some of the supplements I have found effective.. but doint take the fat burners... muscle milk is high in Saturated fat.. i would take a whey or iso protien to supplement... it is cheaper and just as effective as muscle milk... dont take a weight gainer.. instead eat more food... eggs in a blender with whey protein and milk is a great shake for your age... I used to just have milk and three eggs in a blender at your age with chocolate syrup.. not the best but all I could get my hands on that age and it worked.. tasted like crap but it worked..

And as for creatine and a gainer? Or is that all in the Optimum Nutritions 100% gold whey protein
-
01-17-2008, 04:04 PM #50
the optimum stuff is just a whey protein powder..throw it in a blender with some milk, peanut butter, banana or whatever you want and drink it up..the gainer and creatine are options..just do you research and decide what you will like best..just dont be fooled by all the heavy marketing making crazy claims like so and so gained 14 lbs of muscle in 2 weeks..

Creatine is muscle "fuel," but the only weight its going to help you to gain directly is water weight. I personally take a heaping spoonful of monohydrate in water half an hour before a workout, but at no other time. Supposedly the CEE stuff doesn't hold as much water as the old-school monohydrate, but I've seen stuff that says it doesn't work as well either.
That being said, the gainer is going to be the key.
I don't think you want to be drinking protein drinks all day at school. Reason being: if what you get has casein in it (egg protein) you'll get some STANK ass protein farts. Nobody wants that while they sit in a classroom.

So for a supplement this is what I am coming up with. If I have access to a blender for the time being, go with whey protein, blend with milk, egg, bannah ect. Use a weight gainer when I do not have access to a blender. (ex. school straight to gym)

Creatine and weight gainers are very different. A weight gainer is a high calorie supplement to help you gain weight, but it usually comes at the expense of added fat as well. My opinion is that they're garbage, but some guys swear by them. Creatine has no calories (if you get just the powder) and can help you gain some weight and strengh as well, but don't expect miracles.
Water is best, especially if you start taing creatine which can cause water retention.
This is an excellent choice. It's cheap, it works and it tastes good. I would highly suggest you go to a wholesale food distributer (for all your food) and pick up a few boxes of PLAIN oatmeal and you can grind up a cup in a coffee bean grinder and add it into your shake. You'll have about 46 grams of protein and 54 grams of carbs and you could throw some olive oil in there as well for some healthy fat. Of course, this is a great meal to take to school with you and you can have it two to three times a day.
Good choice staying away from AAS.

Well, if you get the Optimum Whey protein than you just mix two scoops of the protein, with one cup ground oatmeal and maybe a tablespoon of olive oil into a shaker. If you buy two shakers than you could just pre-mix them and bring them to school in your bag or you could take one pre-mixed shake and a ziplock bag with the mixture in it. There you have it your own healthy and cheap weight gainer/meal.

Wayyyyyyyyyy too young, this should not even be considered at your age it will cause long term damage to your body your still growing and it will screw up your hormones maybe even permanently. Give it time and be patient, work hard get a trainer even and eat eat eat.

Yes yes yes. I knew all the bad things that could happen. But of course this is all from the health class stuff, which half the stuff they say is sometimes bullshit. But again, when it "seems" like you have tried everything, you turn to the "shortcut." But now that I have had so many people give me some advice it doesnt seem as hard as I thought.

will do.
I still am having one problem over coming.
What should I eat during school. I don't want to fork over the money for protein bars. And I need to have something I can eat without any teacher really noticing.

You should take 2 of those shakes to school. You could easily put them in a gatorade bottle to make it look inconspicuous. Than bring your own lunch consisting of an 8oz chicken breast and 3-4 pieces of whole wheat bread and you could put some peanut butter on the bread, which is a great source of fat. If that sdoesn't suit you, you could take two cans of tuna with some full fat mayo on and split that up onto a few pieces of bread. With your breakfast in the morning that would already amount to 4 meals by the time school is over. Than when you get home you need two more meals and your done for the day. Their's tons of options out there you just have to get creative. Try to make a diet so we can help you out on tweaking it.

Glad to see that your open minded and really are taking the advice of the people here. Its good info. Also on a side note make sure you stick to the gym. When you dont feel like going go. I know almost everyone here wishes that they could of gotten a better start when they was younger so take advantage of it now. Dont worry about being the biggest guy in high school because by the time you get out you will have put on a lot of size. Just stick with it. I know that it will get kinda old fast. Just remember that you only get out What you put in. So keep that in mind when you feel like you dont wanna go. Good luck and hope you start to put on some size soon. Oh yeah just to let you know if you havent already seen it. Eating right is not cheep so get your parents to help pay.
Tell them its for your health.

If I were in HS, and looking to put on weight I'd bring a little carry cooler with me every day thats small enough to fit into my locker. It'd have my lunch and two premixed protein shakes in sealed containers so you can shake them up if they settle. Eating would look something like this:
Meal 1: breakfast before going to school
Meal 2: protein shake after you second class
Meal 3: lunch at normal lunch time
Meal 4: protein shake Before your last class
Meal 5: when you get home from the gym
Meal 6: normal dinner
This all assumes that your classes are 50-60 minutes long, that your lunch is after your 4th class, and that you're working out at your school's gym directly after your last class. If there's at least 30 minutes between the end of school and the time you hit the gym, I'd move meal 4 to right after your last class.
Adjust this accordingly to attempt to get some food in your gut every 2 hours, and your pre-workout meal as close to 30 minutes before your workout as possible.Last edited by kick6; 01-18-2008 at 08:41 AM. Reason: being more specific

New acct for obvious reasons, I am going to post here as long as I can.
Anyhow I'm still a little lost of what this protein shake should consist of. This is what I am gathering so far.
2 scoops weigh protein powder
2 egg whites
1/2 cup grounded oatmeal
banna
(btw cant eat peanut butter, im allergic :/)
Also, is there a website that has foods high in calories and protein ect. In a list. I looked at www.fitday.com and seems you have to know everything your eating, then it will tell you.
-
01-18-2008, 01:08 PM #77
fitday is great..i use it..you can customize your own food so you can enter in your protein shake once..and its readily available for you to add to that days food list..if you dont know the macros..you can search and just approximate..it doesnt have to be exact just close so you have an idea
