What can you tell me about Modafinil/Provigal

Recently I have heard of people taking Modafinil/Provigal. There is nothing about it in the steroids profile forum but from what I can gather its some kind of mild stimulant with applications for cutting down. Is this correct and does anyone have any experience with it in regard to bodybuilding? If so can you explain roughly how it works or what its similar to (i.e clen , ephidren T3 ect).

Also as this chemical may be a stimulant of sorts if its classed as a recreational drug I am sorry and will edit the thread as soon as a mod/vet tells me that its not a topic that can be discussed.

Alot of BBers are using it cause it gives you a "feel good" effect from being on low carbs....some people can feel like down right crap while on prep contest and use this...in all honesty have it but never felt that bad where i felt i needed to take it.

Interesting thanks, I also read something about it being a mood enhancer but it never occurred to me that that was why bodybuilders would take it.

Modafinil- ive been using this for 8 or 9 months now. started out at 100, then 200, and now 300mg ed. at 1st it did make me feel good, but now if i dont take any i dont feel difference except my concentration level goes down. i struggled through my 1st 2yrs in school, now i can easily pass without cracking to the book. my mind is a sponge. it does get me going though, not like Adderall or Ritalin does because Modafinil isnt a CNS stimulant. i could see how it would give a BBer that "feel good effect" since its also used in the help treat addicts coming off drugs. i dont think you could compare it to clen , T3, or ephedra. O and it didnt help much with my last DNP run for feeling better. just my experience though

Thanks for the input. Though you did not mention it I'm assuming that you have ADD or ADHD and that is why you have had those things prescribed. Modafinil sounds like an interesting substance and perhaps an alternative in some cases to taking an antidepressant. Perhaps an advantage to taking Modafinil over many antidepressants is that it sounds like Modafinil does not lower you energy/aggression levels like many antidepressants do. I've been on 2 or 3 antidepressants and they all zonked me out making it hard to train intensely and messed with my sex drive worse than steroids do. I don't take antidepressants these days because bodybuilding and my sex drive are two things that I don't want any medication messing with.

I've got a script for Modifinil, but I never take it. It makes me feel too sped up.

I imagine it's pretty good for losing weight. I put on a ton of weight when I stopped taking it. It kills my appetite.

The only time I take it now is when I have an exam. It's like a more effective caffeine.

I'm giving provigil a shot for the same reason
Oh I never thought of that, good point. Ive heard of people taking "other" stronger stimulants to study so that makes sense.

Thats quite a claim, I thought that technically your IQ is something that is inherent and not able to be improved as such. You may be able to improve your score on an IQ test but can you really increase your IQ?

Thanks for the info, the bounce back effect sounds like it could be a problem for weight loss. Its quite common I believe to lose your appetite while taking Modifinil.

i was prescribed Modifinil because of PTSD and ADD. it was a 2 in 1 kind of a think. the VA hospital was throwing Anit-depressants at me and got tired of all that crap. but i talked to a doc(knew his stuff) and said it will help with energy, concentration, and mood enhancement.

i can tell you that when i 1st started taking it i would go to the gym and be in the fvcking zone!!!!! it was just me and the steel. nothing else mattered. its all i thought about. in fact im going to take one right now and go to the gym in an hr.

Yeah, that's what I got it for.

Another thing to watch out for is your dental health. There are a lot of reports of people losing teeth while on it for long periods of time. A lot of amphetamines are like that.

Modifinil may be different, but I believe that the dental problems associated with most amphetamines are caused by calcium being depleted. Things are not helped by the teeth grinding that often accompanies amphetamine use but its mainly the calcium problem that catches up with you.
