Prednisone bloat

Not sure if anyone would know. but I'm on prednisone and probably will be for a little while. I'm already starting to hold some water. Is there anything i can do to keep it minimal?

That's one of the sides of some corticosteroids. It also can make you constantly hungry.

If I took anything for bloating caused by corticosteroids, it wouldn't be much stronger than an herbal diuretic tea or something along those lines.

Im not sure. I dont know why you get bloated from it

Corticosteroids are notorious for bloat and increasing appetite.

Why do ya take prednisone (For what reason, oral?)? How much? Is this the only drug u r taking? Actually I've no experience with prednisone or prednisolone. Just one time I was on low dose of dexamethasone for three months. Although I didn't feel more hungry as before, I get some 4 kg and increased blood pressure during therapy. After taking this of to the full, I droped over weight and get balanced my blood pressure. Talk more with the person who described prednisone about your probs. If he's profesional, he'd integrate the food and eating habbits without any probs, or change medication recipe, if needed.

I have a medical condition that came out of remison. prednisone is the only thing that works for me. Right now im on 20mgs a day might have to go up not sure yet.

i hate takeing prednisone.....i have asthma, and every now and then get real sick in the chest and can barely breathe......they give me 60mg of prednisone, and drop it 10mg a day until 10mg and then carried on for another wk........anyway, it sucks

Don't stop it abruptly you can get sicker because of rebound effect.
You can change it with another corticosteroid, I'm using Pulmicort inhaler for my asthma, good and no side effect.

BINGO... you only have to take it for a few weeks, it sucks because I was on it a few years ago. God did it suck but there is a reason why you must take it

i dont stop it abrubtly, it is atapering down thing....and the longest i ususlly take prednisone is for about two weeks......i still hate taking it.......
