I told the ER doc about my cycle and I got the "steroids are bad for you speech". Telling me my BP was high (168/92) because the the steroids. I told her that I monitor my BP and it must be high because Im in the most pain I have ever experienced. She said although the steroids didnt help my cause, it couldnt prevent me from coming in contact with the bacteria. She didnt mark it down on my chart. After that , I didnt tell any more docs. I have to continue to follow up with my surgeon. Im thinking about telling her. She kept asking me questions about being immuno compromised.
The wound has to stay in its current state for one week. Moist packing must be changed twice daily. They want it open so it can drain and it can also be better monitored for spreading infection. Maybe next Fri I might get it closed up.
I was going to do clomid 100 for the1st week of pct then drop to 50/week and Nolva 40/first week then drop to 20/week. Do I need to adjust this and do I still run it for 4 weeks? My cycle only made it thru week 6.

Is that an infection from where you injected?!

your very lucky you went to the er because that is mrsa and it can cause an infection in your blood, lungs, heart lining and bones and eventually lead to death. there are only a few very expensive antibiotics that can treat that

It's some scary stuff! More and more cases showing up... I know two people completely disconnected from AS that just recently had a similar infection unreceptive to antibiotics, and had to have it cut out and packed with gauze and such. So IMO there is no AS connection. It's a little off topic, but scary to think that there was a time when we would have just died from these infections until everyone was eventually immune to them due to natural selection. At least with the advances in medicine, we can overcome those things that at one time would have killed us! Thank god for medical research!

it doesn't look like necrotizing fascieitis to me. It looks more like an infected bite or a strain of staph. We've shipped off a few cases of staph infections like that in the last 6 months. Off to indy they go for antibiotic treatments and surgery. Nec fasc is usually far more aggressive than staph when it gets you. 24 hours on nec fasc and you'll be risking life.
I'm curious to see the lab results.
and no, injecting didn't cause this. It's just a bacteria and infections happen. It doesn't help with injections, because they are always a route for bacteria. Oddly enough, a number of the staph infection patients we treat are diabetic.

He guys I have a follow up on Wed, and i will give an update.
Just a thought here: would steroids also aid in healing. I read in another post that steroids are good in promoting healing. Maybe droping my test from 400 to 250/wk for a week or 2 would help. Not sure if that would be better than stopping all together. Let me know what you think.

steroids "should" help healing if they are clean. if they have any foreign substance they could cause the body to work harder to kill that off while trying to repair.
steroids are used to help boost healing medicinally. not quite the same steroids, but even still, recovery time goes way down when you're on roids so it should help.

i would error on the side of caution, i have read numerous, numerous articles because this interests me. "Immune System Changes
There is a large amount of data indicating that anabolic steroids may have some effect(s) on modulating the immune system. As with most potential side effects, this is largely dose and compound dependant. There is strong evidence that different analogues produce vastly different effects on the immune system. Testosterone and certain analogues have been shown to be possibly immunosuppressive, while Nandrolone and other steroids are possibly immunostimulating. Both, however, have been found to be beneficial when given to AIDS patients, who clearly have an already compromised immune system. This is because the increase in lean body mass that those steroids can provide is consistent with an enhanced ability to fight off infections, enhanced survival rates, and a better quality of life. "
so i would advise him, in my opinion to stop. because what would stopping hurt? nothing......but continuing COULD lead to problems. so i would not agree with you that it definitely does not.

I dont know if I was right or wrong in doind this but... This week I at leat took 250 of test c as a maintaince dose. The doctor says the infection is all gone due to the surgery and the wound just needed to heal over time. I cont return to work for 2weeks but she said I can start hitting the gym again immediately. I know I can only work upper body but I think that is better than nothing and would help me to look better for summer. I have done six weeks of my cycle and would at least like to get 4 more out of it. I felt the test really kicked in 2-3 weeks ago and want to keep that going. Is there anything wrong with my thinking? I told the surgeon that I wanted to go on prohormones, protein, and other suppliments, which she said would not affect my recovery. Let me know what you guys think, i know all of you are definatly more knowledgable than me.

Thanks guys. I went to the gym today and didnt have any problems. Did chest and tri's. Lightweight just to get going again. The trainer said I should stay away from squats and lunges for a while but the leg extension and curl machine seemed to be ok. I amde the decision to go back on the test c (only missed one dose). I think I should be ok, just cant do 2 exercizes.

Ostrich I'm sorry your that your cycle has been interrupted by a spontaneous vagina eruption. I hope that you are able to work around the problem. Its great that you can maintain a sense of humor about the whole issue. I don't think id see the lighter side if it were me. Plus with being on testosterone like yourself but unlike you single I would have trouble resisting the urge to penetrate it so that would probably hamper the healing process (im joking, im not that sick). Best of luck, at least the worst is behind you now (pun not intended).
Btw my thoughts are that running pct would result in lower estrogen resulting in lower immune system function resulting in slower healing. Just my thoughts.
Btw those pics are horrid.

Thanks Mick. I really appreciate the concern from everyone here. I know I havent shown updated pics yet, but it is healing rather well. Im sure by the end of the cycle, I will be doing legs again. Ive been to the gym twice and had no problems (just have to sit down carefully). Also your thoughts on the estrogen and healing, is the same on what I was thinking. I did my second injection since being home and Im confident I made the right decision. If the injury was worse, where my mobility was inhibited more, I think I would have dropped to a maintaince dose until either the cycle was over or I was feeling better. I think the time on PCT really messes more with your body than when your actually cycling. Nevertheless, I took a month of paid sick leave and will spend the time recovering and hitting the gym (explains the positive attitude). Thanks guys and Ill keep updating.
