Aspiration is worth it
Today I aspirated and for the first time I saw blood, this is amazing to me because in hundreds of sticks I've always aspirated and never drew blood. I know through formal and informal training that if an IM injection draws blood one should discard not only the needle but its entire contents. I only bring that up because one of my fellow gym goers told me, if that should happen to him he would just replace the needle. Please folks if there is a drop of blood in that oil, it doesnt belong in your muscle (without a return path). Basically you are injecting a bruise with a greater potential of infection. Just looking out.

I thought it was okay as long as you change the needle.

As long as it's "your blood", and it's small, try to push the drop out.As you would when clearing air. Then definitely change the pin.

A drop of your own bllod is not going to create an infection.
