Opening HCG glass amps

This is my second time using HCG and I cut myself and got glass fragments all over the place including inside the amp where is HCG is.

I pointed the dot away from me and pushed forward with my thumb. I must be doing it wrong because glass shavings went everywhere.

I'm not so concerned about the little cut, but my HCG got some glass fragments in the amp. I turned it upside down a tapped it gently and it looks like the glass fragments came out.

Can someone help me open these things? It took a LOT of force to break it so I'm doing something wrong. Should I trash this amp and use another one?

are you scoring it with a file first?

take a triangular file and use it to score the ring before you break the amp(so the ring has thinner glass and breaks easier)

I know I should probably trash it but I hate to do that. Im pretty sure I got all the glass out of the inside.

if you can suck the gear up with a 27g or 29g i wouldn't worry about it(the glass fragments would be very very small), your call though

I let it sit for a while after I reconstituted it. Then I pulled off the top. If there was any glass left it should have setteled to the bottom I hope.

you can score the amp with scissors too...

hahah amps always scare me that way but i never got cut and never had glass fall in but a lil ususally does fall off the bottle...

Wrap it up in a t-shirt or towel, even if scoared or not, and break it that way.

In other words, dot towards you.

On the HCG vials I have, under the dot there's a tiny tiny score mark already there. That basically a 'weak' spot that breaks first causing the rest to snap off cleanly.

No sir, you keep that dot pointing towards you and all will be fine.

I just rap the amp with toilette paper and use another tp wrap on the top and just snap away. Never a problem for me.
