    Unique back pump question

I have read many threads about back pumps and I take taurine (3g/day), calcium, magnesium, and potassium supplements, plus eat bananas as well as drinking around 1.5 to 2 gallons of water per day (probably more on days when I play ball).

I don't get back pumps when doing my morning cardio or working out or much of anything except when I play basketball and I get them bad every time. It doesn't take 5 minutes for it to get insanely tight. If I can take 20 minutes or so of rest and let the pump go away, I can usually play pump free the rest of the night. I've tried running on the treadmill, doing plyometrics and things of that nature to get it tight to try and get my rest on the way to the gym, but none of those things seem to replicate all the core stabilizer muscles you use playing ball... I wouldn't be whining about this for just my pick-up games, but with the league ball its annoying as hell and since there are games before mine I can't play for a bit and then rest it to get it to go away.

Any advice is welcome or I may just be out of luck until the end of my cycle in 4 weeks. Cycle is test prop and npp 75mg/day of each. I went through the same thing (pump when doing basketball only on my last cycle of prop only). Let me know what you guys think.

I have never gotten back pumps w/ injectables but get them bad w/ orals. Not sure what to tell you since you are only on injectables.

Not to interupt your thread here, but what is a back pump?

I don't know how bad mine are compared to an oral (never tried orals), but like I said, I don't get them doing anything but basketball. It doesn't get so bad that I have to quit, but it gets close. I definitely lose most all of my bounce when you can't bend at the core and explode... It just feels incredibly tight and I stretch constantly.

Is there anything you do for your orals that I'm currently not doing?

When you use a lot of lower back muscles and it gets very tight/almost swollen feeling. Best way I can describe it is when you do a killer arm day and your whole arm has an incredible pump and just feels huge and very tight and you can't extend it or bend it all the way, well transfer that feeling to your back and its not a good feeling...

I got mad back pumps on sust/npp. I dont think it had something to do with the aas but I gained almost 30 pounds in 6-8 weeks. Drop the kcals and see if you notice anything.

Thanks bro, sorry for jacking your thread but that was something I have never heard of. That sounds really uncomfortable, do you have access to a hot tub? Maybe that would help?

By dropping the kcals, do you mean dropping the number of calories I burn (i.e dropping some morning cardio or something) or do you mean just lowering my overall caloric intake?

No problem. No, I don't have easy access to one and I'm not sure it would get the muscle warmed up deep enough anyway. It only happens when I really get all of those little stabilizer muscles in the lower back and core going constantly. Typically jogging or any type of continuous muscle contractions for the area you are trying to warm up will get the muscle heated much deeper than a tub will.

Even after saying all that, I appreciate the suggestion and am willing to try about anything at this point and will see if I can get into one about an hr or so before my next game and see if it makes a difference. If I can't find one, I might just fill up the tub with hot water. I'd really like to be able to do a lot of stretching while I'm in it though...
