How many of you felt pain when hitting an artery/vein?

10 minutes ago I was doing my usual ventrogluteal injection (VENTROgluteal, not DORSOgluteal, there is a difference).

This was the first time I had to switch pins THREE times because I kept hitting an artery/vein (only noticed when aspirating). However, as I pushed the needle in, I felt a twinge of pain (both times; 3rd and final injection went well). I thought I hit a nerve, but it seems it was an artery when I noticed the tip of the syringe fill with blood.

I've only hit an artery twice before in past cycles and I found that I still got that twinge of pain each time. I figure if I hit a nerve, i'd be through the roof.

Anyone else find that hitting arteries/veins comes with some pain when pushing the needle in?

My injection site hurts now, god damnit.

Yes. Delt and Calves only. Sometimes bruises after, but very painful.

I can't even massage my injection site right now because it's too painful when I touch it. I'll just have to leave it be. 3 pins in the same general area, lol. Fvcking hell.

I hit vein once, and hurt alot. Also a few big drops of blood were on the floor.
It hurt only when pinning, after that all was normal.

I hit a vein my 3rd time pinning Test E. I didnt need to aspirate to know... I felt it haha. Sure enough when I aspirated just to make sure I had a good amount of blood come back in the syringe.

I hit a vein only once, I aspirated and drew blood. So I pulled out and shot blood all over the room. Moved to a different spot and no problem, but bruising occured. And it was annoying to clean up the blood. Oh... it didn't hurt that bad tho.

i've went through a vein once to tell you the truth it didn't hurt that bad I asperated and no blood came into the barrel so i injected. The pin whole bled quite a bit and the next day although it wasn't much more pain than the normal injection site pain i had a nice bruise developing there that stuck around for a week
