You shouldn't even be asking this, up for 24 hours and asking if you should workout? NO.
Give your body some rest. I couldn't imagine going for a workout after not sleeping for 24 hours, that would be excruciating!

you could do it, then rest so you will benefit from your workout while you sleep

Missing one workout due to lack of sleep won't make much difference, missing a couple of months because of an injury from working out due to lack of sleep..well that will be a big issue.

Plus even if you don't get injured your body only grows after a workout if it is able too, after not sleeping for 24hrs your body would not be able to recover and grow.

I'm not advising him to do it but he COULD do it if he really wants to and has energy. I wouldn't though. I'd recommend he sleeps as long as possible then trains the next morning

I think it is common sence that your body needs rest. if you want to hurt yourself go lift, but even on juice when your body recovers faster you need adequate rest.

He could do both bench and sleep not sure it would work though..

You need the sleep to grow so you aren't wasting workouts..
