Do the endocrine system develops in the same time frame as the growth plates ?
Firstly, hello to all forum members.
I'm a 17 year old male and I have some doubts, if somebody with experience and knowledge could answer them, I would be very thankful. So, I've run some exams to know if I would grow some more, only to discover my growth plates are closed for some time now and I have the bone structure comparable to a 20 year old male with the same height as me ( 5.8", around 1,76cm ). I was not so surprised by it, since I was always ahead of my friends in term of development ( I already had some chest hair and beard when I was like 13-14 ). I stopped growing when I was 15yo ( my growth plates were probably already closing ). My doctor asked for some blood tests, and my hormonal levels are actually quite in the low term ( around 400s ng/dL of total test ). And I'm having this doubt for quite some time now. Is there a possibility I'm a REALLY early bloomer and my endocrine system is finished developing ? Or it has nothing to do with my test levels/growth plates ??
Sorry for writing a f***** bible, and sorry for my english since it isn't my first language

Contrary to public belief, its not testosterone that causes the growth plates to close, but elevated estrogen levels.

So I have test levels in the lower range and I'm an estrogen factory ? Didn't expect that coming
@lifter65, yeah, I've got them, my free test wasn't going well too, and my IGF1 levels were REALLY low, it was actually quite lower than the ACCEPTABLE range for my age ( lower than the minimun average levels ). I don't remeber exactly the numbers from it, only remeber I was quite shocked to see they were THAT low. Today I'll try to go on the labs homepage and get the numbers right to see.
And if any admin sees this thread, please don't ban me, I just need some information. And in no way I said I will start a cycle or even mentioned the word steroids . I just want to know the answer to my questions.

but its a reflex from test that causes the estrogen. so for a noob, he is halfway correct
yes possibly you have closed growth plates, but your maturing goes so much further than that. You may just be short natured anyways...
A fully developed endocrine system truely isnt around untill mid 20s. You may not get taller but you are still matureing.
you have lower test, but if u dont cycle and live a healthy life i bet ull live longer than if u had higher test. Testosterone kills, in a very broad/vague sense.
get a full blood workup and see what the doc says. IF you are healthy lifint and diet wise you will raise ur natty test levels some.

My growth plates are already closed, I have this confirmation coming from an Endocrinologist and an Orthopedist. So basically I still have a long way to mature my endocrine system ? Isn't the development in such early ages ( growing wise/masculine traits wise ) an indicator that my endocrine system is ahead of me ?

yes you have more maturing after ur done growing. You may not have alot more of noticable effects but its all finishing up after ur done growing. you will continue to get hairy, and that is such a gradual change that usually cant notice it ourselves unless there is a timelapse visiable.

but to answer ur question, yes u can tell if u mature earlier than others by physical apperance. granted, its not all inclusive, but is a general sign.

NO! Your HPTA system will not fully mature until somewhere around 25.

Whats the purpose of these questions?
Why are you, a 17 year old, so heavily concerned about your endocrine system?...just doesnt seem like a normal 17 year old concern.
