Can T3 (Cytomel) permanently shut down your Thyroid Gland?

I have heard horror stories about this. Is this true? Can this happen? Also, I have heard there are psychological sides of T3 use such as irritibility and paranoia. Is that true?

If anyone can truthfully answer the above questions it would be very nice.

Furthermore, I was planning a T3 cycle as follows:

    Week 1: 25 mcg
    Week 2: 50 mcg
    Week 3: 75 mcg
    Week 4: 75 mcg
    Week 5: 50 mcg
    Week 6: 25 mcg

How does that sound? I am 45 pounds overwight due to taking an anti psychotic for my Schizophrenia, which I got as a result of steroid use . I am unable to loose weight naturally due to the medication. I will need to take the medication for another year, so until then I will be unable to loose fat through excercise. My plan right now is to use T3 to loose weight over the year, until I stop taking my Schizo meds, after which I will also stop using T3 and just loose weight naturally.

Can someone tell me if the above mentioned cycle, in conjunction with a strict low carbn low fat high protein diet will help me loose fat?

    Thanks!

    P.S.
It is not recommended to run T3 w/o aas, primarily because you'll lose muscle also, which is obviously counterproductive.

This is not true. It can surely mess it up for a period of time. Meds do not cause your body to not lose weight though. Sounds like a bandaid to me if you ask me. Get your diet in check and start doing some cardio THEN worry about taking some T3

Your thyroid levels will return to normal in 1-2 weeks.

There has been a few studies, one of them some guy was on T3/T4 for about 10 years, came off and his thryoid came back to normal in 2 weeks.
