I'm not one to necessarily believe the people with experience over a doctor who reads out of a book, but I really want to know which book says quitting cold turkey causes more harm than good. And yeah, what good is seeking a medical opinion from a doctor if you can't understand what he's saying? Something sounds a little fishy to me. But whatever, he's just some kid.
I also love the fact that we have a forum here of people (some are really knowledgeable) and a whole internet of information that we can use to double check the opinion of a physician.Last edited by Honkey_Kong; 01-16-2012 at 05:16 AM.

The doctor simply put to me that the chemical addiction to nicotine will cause physical effects such as not sleeping... Which I can not do, if I go cold turkey I do not sleep, and if I do not sleep I cannot work and if I cannot work i can not support my family and that is not an option. So maybe the nicotine patches gradualy decreasing the amount of nicotine put into my body will be a better option. I already have sleep problems and get about 4 hours a night and it's broken into 3 lots some nights. These nicotine patches will ensure I will get a full nights unbroken sleep which seems alot better than letting the promblem continue or worse make the problem worse... I know my body I know I don't get enough sleep as it is, and I'm not restricting it more because people are saying it's a good idea to put my body through physical and mental stress due to chemical withdrawls and sleep deprivation. Sorry.
