    Menstrual cycle

    my friend is going to the doctors soon, but I couldnt wait to know some more info.. over the past 6 months she has been getting into great shape. was already in pretty good shape but changed her diet plan etc...she is now 9.2% bf according to the hydrostatic she had done a few days ago..question is- she has not gotten her menstrual cycle for two almost three months now. No! she is not pregnant...can body fat % effect this??? thanks all

    Vigorous exercise can affect a woman's menstrual cycle. But so can many medications and stress.

    Yep. Menstruation can only occur in a safe bodily environment. A humans body will stay most fertile if she has enough fat but not too much. If she goes out of these ranges her body will no longer be fertile (or have low fertility). She needs to chuck some weight on if shes thinking about having kids anytime soon

    Absolutely...I'm probably at about 22% bf according to TBody from the pictures I posted and mine stopped as well. I think different female bodies respond in different ways but sudden changes in our bodies seem to stop the cycle. If it doesn't omeback in another month, she should probaly go see her gynocologist..just to be on the safe side.
