***If you don't know****
I haven't made a thread like this in a while, so here goes.
If you don't know the answer to something, please don't guess.
There's no shame in not knowing something, since no one can know everything.
But when someone makes up something random just to appear smart, it 1) puts our members at risk (and we generally want our members to be healthy and all that), and 2) makes you look like an idiot when someone comes along later and corrects you.
You've all heard that old adage, "better to remain silent, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt".
EDIT: This isn't directed at any one person in particular. I've just seen way too much mis-information being thrown out lately, and it's gotta stop.
In fact, here, I'll give you a little hint. If some asks, "hey, what's the half life of Var?" and you don't know, don't just guess that it's 4 hours. Because you'd be wrong and look like a dumb ass. If you're not sure, don't answer. Or, or, look it up. Check the steroid profile here, find out that it's 8hrs, then post. And everyone will think you're a steroid Guru and you'll get your name in a different color in no time
Keep this bumped please, guys.

and usually Bear (or some other vet) will catch it and give his simple but effective famous line, "you know nothing. you shouldn't be giving advice" hahahaha
and with that, up she goes!

Great advice. When I encounter information that I'm either not completely sure of or have forgotten, I will go research multiple studies in order to relay the most accurate information possible. And that still doesn't always turn out to be 100% accurate. But that's the great thing about having so many knowledgeable members around.

I only speak to 1st hand experience, and there are way too many dates/names to know it all, being able to find the information is more important than knowing the information..
great post..

Great post. Really this goes for anything in life. I'd rather hear I don't know than a BS answer.
