Test: "I'll keep you a man", Deca: "I'll shut you down"

This is definitely one of those moments where I've gone and over thought something, and completely confused myself!

My Biology is very good, my Chemistry isn't great (Biochemistry is good though!) so bare with me if I don't understand straight away.

If all Anabolic Steroids are drugs which mimic Testosterone, then why can't you not run some compounds solo.

*God help me this sounds like the biggest newbie question! But don't worry, I've already taking the privilege of face palming myself in advance.

They don't all "mimic" testosterone . Not all steroids are derived from testosterone. Different steroids came about by people trying to tweak it and make a better compound. When you change the chemical makeup of a compound you can wind up with something similar or something completely different. This is why deca gives you limp dick but testosterone gives you the opposite effect. The reason you need to stack test is because for the most part AAS shuts you down and since your body may not necessarily use whatever compound you're injecting in the same manner that it uses test, you then need to supply yourself with test since your body is absent of it. Testosterone is a hormone your body needs to function properly.

This is my non-chemist answer. Maybe someone like bonaparte can elaborate a little further and get into detail.

I'm starting to get my head around this now.
I don't know, but when I started over thinking it I started coming to the conclusion that all AAS are derivatives of testosterone .
As I said, still learning ever day about the world and chemistry of AAS.

Thanks for the explanations thus far, if anyone has more detailed info please tell.
