    Under age brother on roids

My little brother (17) and I have been working out together for the past 2.5 years. I'm 24 and have been lifting for 4 years. My little bro asked me if I knew anything about steroids cause he wanted to try them. I've heard people under 18 shouldn't do roids cause the side effects can be worse than normal. Any thoughts?

bad idea. it will mess up his natural hormone production and sex life HTPA I think its called. most of the advice ive seen here says to wait until around 25 yo to start any cycle. unless he wants to screw up his body, lose his hair at 18, shrink his nuts, stop growing, etc. Tell him to focus on diet and training naturally until then.

At 17 your body is still producing higher amounts of testosterone man there's no need for him to touch steroids for a long time plus taking steroids at a young age can cause you to require them at an earlier age (later in life) just to have a normal level of hormones <- hope this makes sense..

Make sure you keep him on track, make sure he eats well and trains hard because at the end of the day a perfect diet and those last reps where your screaming to push is what will make you grow..
Throw in some good supplements ie glutamine protein aminos and if you want creatine... But stay far away from steroids for a while

    "lift eat sleep & repeat..."

OP to answer your question regardless of if its for your brother, sister, or dog walkers cousin,

There is several members on this fourm who are on TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) in their mid to late 20's from AAS use at a young age, this involves injecting test, possibly hcg and possibly using an a.i for the rest of your life just to feel normal, not to mention the libido problems and depression you could suffer for years from low test while your waiting to actually get onto TRT

This thread goes into more detail on the subject

Now that you have all the info I hope you can make an informed and responsible decision for your future

Jeez HRT in someones 20's! That WAY to huge of a risk.

Just to walk around with big muscles for a few months.

So is risk of permanent shut down much worse in younger guys as their body has not reached its set point yet?

basically yes, if your HPTA and endocrine system hasnt fully developed yet then using AAS could stop it from fully developing, think of it like a child with stunted growth

The thread I linked above goes into more detail if you have a look
