    Angry pain in the ass

so ive pinned about 3 times so far..first time in my quad..not making that mistake again. so i started using my glute..wich doesnt hurt as bad but the day after i pin i notice a red blotch under the site. it doesnt last for but a day or two..what does this mean? the redness isnt around the actual pin site..usually below it..almost like its the oil seaping down between my muscle and skin...is it possible that im not getting deap enough in the musscle? im using a 23 gauge 1 inch syringe and just about burying it? also there is a little lump under the skin. does this mean my gear isnt good?

If it's your first time pinning, could be your virgin muscle reacting. However, it could also be caused by an unsteady hand. The tip of the needle is like a blade, if your hand isn't steady, you could cause micro tears in the muscle. Muscles don't like that and react.

1 inch is long enough and if it is going away then I wouldn't worry about it.

What did you NOT like about quads...they are my favorite

I did my quads once. Whole quad swelled up like a balloon. Couldn't even see my knee! Not to mention it was red and very painful. Couldn't do legs for a week! I feel ya OP, maybe for some ppl the quads react different..

1" should be good enough but you have to bury it. Using 1.5 wouldn't be a bad idea for glutes. No, it doesn't mean your gear's bad. Happens to me w/good gear. The bump, not the other you speak of. I've never experienced that.

Try laying on the bed belly down and reaching back, should help with the wobble of your hand. I use 1" on glute

Sounds like a great idea. I might try that too.

Thats why Glutes are not in my rotation. I cant reach em without cramping up my whole side.

Once you get quad pinning down it's very easy. Only thing I don't drive the pin in...I push it in slow due to nerves. If I feel one bak out and move up or a down a bit.

I know others here do the same technique. I just stand up and pin, but some prefer to lay down

I always tell people when its their first time injecting into their quad to not put more than 1cc to see how it reacts. When you inject a foriegn substance into a muscle the body reacts with inflamation and soreness. That's my experience.

If you are using a 1 inch and not pushing it in all the way some of the gear could be getting into your fat tissue and that is probably the red you see. The first time I ever injected I didn't put it in far enough and it gave me a a big red hard knott under the skin. Never did that againl.

Slow down when injecting you could be going to fast. Then when done I rub the area for about 15/20 seconds to help spread the oil.

I can't help you with identifying the cause of the redness, although if it is accompanied by pain I would see a doctor right away. But I agree with Lunk1 that 1" is not long enough for glutes. It's fine for quads, but you'll need 1.5" pins for glutes.
