    Abscess or infection

Second cycle with Test E..first shot went well with left delt on Monday with regular pain from pin and went away. Second pin Thurs in right delt..friday regular soreness but Sat and Sun morn I got a huge hard lump, some fever but not much, fever went away and came back. Some redness so I added a heat pad for about 20 mins and messaged it..hurt like shit but it felt comfortable all night and this morning. But now its painful again and a little larger (to me anyways) Im use to the pip from the previous cycle and first pin..but Im worried about the hardness of the lump. Think it could be an infection, abscess, or seriously irritated muscle from my pin and my messaging made it worse?

It could be nothing. I've had similar experiences before, sometimes it takes a few days for swelling to go down. If it keeps up and you're still in pain better be safe than sorry and see a doctor. I wouldn't mention what you pinned though lol

When my upper leg became infected it was so bad that the swelling was all the way down to my ankle. My one ankle was a lot bigger than the healthy one. It was cellulitis and I was prescribed Cephalexin for it. You will have to use your own judgement on when its time to see a doctor. Mine was serious and I know of one other person who had to be hospitalized from bacterial infection.

Coming from a guy who's no expert on injections. Could you put a needle in the site and try to aspirate ? That way you could tell what's in there.

No you're better off not trying to play doctor.

Yeah im staying away from delt for a while. I followed all of the correct procedures, but Im wondering if I might have injected too quickly or if my hand moved around a little while injecting. Hoping it something simple. Whats the difference between an abscess and an actual infection with pin gear?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abscess

    Read that.

Abscesses are generally local infections. But there are sterile abscesses that are caused by non-pathogenic foreign objects as well (like injecting a grain of sand that was sterile).

So the grain of sand creates fluid retention although it is sterile? I have always wondered about this sterile abscess as it seems to be an oxymoron. I believe it to be a myth

    http://medical-dictionary.thefreedic...n+site+abscess

"Sterile abscesses are sometimes a milder form of the same process caused not by germs but by nonliving irritants such as drugs. If an injected drug like penicillin is not absorbed, it stays where it was injected and may cause enough irritation to generate a sterile abscess—sterile because there is no infection involved. Sterile abscesses are quite likely to turn into hard, solid lumps as they scar, rather than remaining pockets of pus."

Your immune cells detect the foreign object (through its lack of surface markers) and wall it off, eventually burying it in scar tissue so that it cannot interfere with or infect the surrounding tissue.

Ah okay, so it would be fluid retention as a result of a chemical inflammation. Thanks for clearing that up.

Its could be an abscess where its causing scar tissue..woke up this morning with no improvement. Might have to make a trip to the good ol doc and tell her I bumped into a nail staple while working in the garage the other day. And just let her go from there lol

Revelations I have had this alot with me it was red warm and felt like a hard piece of leather and it was circular the redness increased 1 week it disappeared and that was all I usually have it every time I pin but then again I was pinning with 20g I usually wouldn't worry about it unless you get a fever or the area is very hot try taking Tylenol its an anti inflammatory which will help the swelling go down and reduce the pain.

I want to thank everyone for the info and advice. Its been helpful. I havent experience any fever myself and most if the pain is from the imflammation..so im going to pop some ibuprofen and give it a few days to see what happens. Pin Quad yesterday injected slower..so hopefully that was my problem with the delt.
