there are studies saying it both ways about warming up the muscles.. The big thing is, warming up the muscle ( 10 minutes of dynmaic stretching, for example push ups could be dynamic stretching) This in theory will help the muscle, but the studies are against static stretching. Static stretching will decrease the strength in the muscles, not dynamic stretching...
We did studies in class with a EMG machine and saw the output of each muscle.
But yeah, haha.. 3 sets with no weight is a waste. 1 set with low weight is more like it.
