In short it's critical. Great time to get fast acting protein in you as well as to replenish your glycogen stores.....

Agree with goode though. Nutrition forum. Then again, anything his avi said I would agree to....

I agree w/kelkel and it's agreed w/me over the years. Typically, i'll have a meal within 1-1 1/2 hrs after a workout. But right after a workout i'll grab a protein drink to hold me over till dinner.

I time my workout so that its time for me to eat right after. Honestly this has worked better for me than drinking shakes after i train but everyone is different.

I'm going against the grain and saying that it's way over hyped! I think hitting macro's over a day and over long time periods is far more important! I won't get into the science of it but I don;t believe it to be a beneficial as ppl have been made to believe it is!

I think if you combine kekel/pete and lunks answer then its covered perfectly, it is important, but not to the extent that supp companys have you believe, i.e you NEED to use our protein shake exactly 1min 34 seconds after your workout or you lose 48% of the potential gains from your w/o

Hitting macros for the day should be number 1 i.m.h.o

Question for kelkel, do you think that the average gym goer would have depleted glycogen stores from a single w/o and running normal diet, not fasted w/o, IF or anything similar, Im not talking about me or you, just the ''average joe'' if you get my meaning

I've tried both ways and without doubt I see and feel a huge difference in using pwo nutrition weather a meal or shake but the difference is black and white for me. Not interested in any study what's states different I use what works and for me there is a huge difference.
