working out times
As of the last few months, I have been doing pre-meal cardio and weights at night. As a result my weight workouts at night have been suffering, not intense at all, lagging, and the results have shown. I was thinking of switching it up doing weights in the morning or afternoon and cardio at night. I am hoping this will make a difference because I want my weights to be the focus point of working out, not cardio.

Hate that feeling of weights after cardio, I avoid it at all costs. Maybe tweaking your diet could help you?

Got a steroid question ?

I didn't know where to ask this question. Basically I feel like I am sacrificing my weight workouts because I am already working out in the morning doing cardio only.

I have to eat before weights to have a good workout..and if I do cardio at on the same night..I finish with cardio! You energy stores are depleted and af course your workout will suffer!

I always try to lift in the mornings followed by cardio. Eat an hour before. That way I'm carbbed up for the lift and empty for the run

Ok, I think I might be confusing everyone. Right now I have been doing pre-meal cardio in the mornings and come back later at night and do weights with light cardio after. I am working out twice a day.

lol. Macros for that meal? Is that before or after workout and how long before/after?
There are supplements that can help if you're feeling sluggish, but the problem is that taking them at night could also keep you awake later than you want.
I would also have your cortisol levels checked. They go up and down, you might be working out while they're down. They typically peak in the morning and evening. But you may have a dip somewhere and may need to supplement. This is one of many possibilities, I mention it because I had to change my workout time due to this.
You could try some OTC help. Rhodiola, Adrenal and some micronized L-Arginine.

This is such an easy fix. Do your weight workout then your cardio

I assume by doing cardio in the AM you are trying to drop BF.
What kind of cardio are you doing in the AM? I have the same routine as you, and I do 60min on the elliptical, low intensity, 60-70% of MHR. I'm a tad winded at the end of the session, but recover well afterwards.
PM weight training session has not suffered on this type of split. Have you tried taking a preworkout to boost yourself before your PM training?

I do stairsmaster in the morning for about 30 min.

Honestly I think it is all in my head. Did premeal cardio and came back in the afternoon and did weights and it felt great! When I do it at night and the gym is empty I feel unmotivated and less likely to have a good workout then if it is busy. Is that weird or do others feel different when the gym is more occupied.

Lately Ive been doing fasted cardio, come home and eat, then go train 1-2 hours later. And its been great. I always make sure to have a decent meal before training though, no matter what time of day
