    Test e duration

I'm nearly finished my cycle, 500mg/week of test e.
I was planning a 12 week cycle, made good gains and was wondering what people think about extending it to 16 weeks?
    Then carry out PCT etc

Or is it better to complete 12 weeks, finish PCT, and start another 12 week cycle a few months done the track
Any real disadvantages with a 16 week cycle?

I say 12 weeks. And wait a minimum of 18 weeks assuming you have a standard 4 week pct. if you extend the cycle it prolongs the period that you're shut down make recovery much more difficult.

The disadvantage is the longer the cycle, the harder the recovery...

12wks vs. 16wks shouldn't make a huge difference either way, negative or positive. There's really nothing magical about a specific set period of time. As far as your health is concerned, it is normally best to stick with a plan and just follow that, but I'm not going to sit here and say that's what I always did.

I'm at last week of 12 week cycle, 500mg/week, had no sides, was thinking about continuing to 16 weeks, then do PCT and have 4 months off.
