gel at bottom of vial
I have a bottom of test cyp that is geling up at bottom. A guy asked me about this a while ago and I said I never heard of it. Now it's happening to a vial of mine. Has anyone seen this before? What is the gel and is it still safe/effective to use?

Are you sure its "gel" or could it be more hard and crystalline like. Cyp is notorious for crashing. If you heat the vial it will most likely go back to a liquid state. It may not hold after time so just reheat it again.

If this happens, you can warm the vial up and it should go back to its original state.
Whether its still safe to use I couldn't say but I have in the past without issues.

Heat it up swirl it so its completely clear again no gel
And let it sit on the side and keep your eye on it.
If you have a pressure cooker that will go to 15psi place the vial on a rack inside for 45-60 minutes this will really help no end

Thanks for the responses. I don't have a pressure cooker. What is the best way to heat it up? Sit it in a pot of boiling water?

the proper method used is to boil water, remove off the stove and dip the vial in and leave for few minutes until it dissolve. don't heat directly or you could overheat and degrade the quality.

Could the gel be used as a transdermal?

it would be funny to see the look on his face seeing the vial crack heating it directly on the burner. LOL.

You can put in the microwave for 30 seconds. Don't worry about the metal top, it won't spark. I've done it many times.

I hold a lighter to it for a few seconds. Quick and easy

Yes to the water bath.
As long as there is adequate space above the AAS (for expansion) about 1.2-2 mls for a 10 ml vial there is no need to vent...venting is a very bad idea as its an invitation to moisture and contaminants.
Water will not boil hotter than 212°f at atmospheric pressure (laws of physics) so no need to worry about overheating whether boiling or not.
If you want to use a pressure cooker (or autoclave) this is fine the pressure inside a pressure cooker 15 psi will allow the boiling point to reach approx. 250°f which is also fine and will not degrade AAS any significant amount.
Putting on a burner or in a stove can subject the outer portions of the vial and AAS to high temps and degrade it.
Microwave will degrade everytime...although there is no radioactive radiation per say in a microwave, the microwaves heat things by subjecting them to an alternating frequency of 2.4 ghz vibrating liquids at this frequency. This causes friction between the molecules and subsequent heating. A hormone can be degraded by this friction and its very easy to overdue the heating causing the contents of the vial to exceed their boiling point without boiling until you add energy ( move the vial) then they can flash boil causing the vial to explode and burning you with the various components that will be well above 300°f which is not a pretty thing.
That's my take on heating vials.
OH yeah back to the original post LOLs yes the gear will often form a gel when it crashes as opposed to crystals.Last edited by Far from massive; 09-17-2013 at 05:25 PM.

I boiled a pot of water and put a small amount in a tea cup. I let the vial sit in it for close to 5 minutes checking every minute or so. There is a small amount of "gel" still floating around in there but it is far better than it was. Hopefully now it's g2g.

You need to put it in the pot not a cup, water in cup will cool down fast and it won't do what it supposed to.

my stove top is glass so in the past ive heated it directly on the glass burner on low until the compound melts back into the solution...I had some prop years ago that I had to heat every time cus it was overdosed and couldn't stay suspended, it was a bitch and quite painfull....obviously if you use this method you need to sit there with it and monitor what is happening while its happening...
