Effect of ONLY 1 beer/drink.
Hey guys, serious question here.
Obviously, alcohol is detrimental to making gains, but whenever I see it talked about people are talking about getting shitfaced on the weekends or going out to bars for the night.
Would you say there's any downside to that 1 beer after work? Or a 2oz splash of aged whisky on the rocks?
Thanks.

No real downside to the occasional drink. It can actually increase your T level briefly.

I highly doubt one or two beers occasionally would be detrimental. However when alcohol is consumed frequently and in mass quantities, it can mess you up without (and I'll assume with) gear.

Of course its fine and that one drink may even have long term benifits. I don't drink at all but having a drink here and there will definitely not hurt you.

Having the occasional drink once in a while is no big deal. Having 3 drinks every night seems like it would be a complete waste of calories.

Not at all.
I usually drink once or twice a week. When I do it is Vodka on the rocks with a few olives or even olive juice. This way I get 0 sugar and fillers. Plus drinking your shit on the rocks makes you feel a little more manly.

I'm drinking right now for the first time in months. I've had three crown/rocks and only because I have been stranded for days trying to get home and I feel like it. Lol.

one or two is probably ok if you can limit it to that. I could pretty easily throw down a 6 pack every day after work and 9 or 10 on Friday-Sunday. I've read that alcohol, especially beer, is bad for T levels. Without a doubt, it is a lot of empty calories. I know I feel better since putting it down in my miserable and seemingly ever-ending quest to get my diet in order and consistent.
