What is a good drug for burning fat?

Hi, so my issue is that I've always had a lot of problems burning fat. I've always been a very active person, I've played competitive sports most of my life, I've been lifting weights on and off for about 10 years, I cycle all the time in the warmer seasons, and been working physically demanding jobs the last 10 years. In terms of diet, I've always been a pretty healthy eater, I grew up on a farm and we never really ate any junk food except for occasions.

Last year I decided I'm going to get strict with my diet and go hard on the weights. I've been studying nutrition for many years now and even took a course in nutrition and scored a 96% average. I used myfitnesspal for a few months but it didn't really work so I dropped it.

Here's a sample of my daily diet: generally eat some oats with a scoop of protein and flax. or 3 eggs on some toast. For lunch and dinner I'll have some sort of meat like chicken, beef or fish, with a side of veggies (usually broccoli) and a salad. In between meals I'll have a protein shake. I'm not a rigid as say a BB on my diet, but my job doesn't allow me to eat as well as I'd like to because I don't always have the time for it, but I'd say I'm on par 75% of the time.

Anyway, long story short: I can build muscle, just can't seem to burn fat. I know that usually it's the opposite problem for most people, but that's my issue. I've always been a bit on the chub side and no matter how much I exercised, it just refuses to burn off.

I'm just giving you a snapshot of my life so that you know I'm not trying to avoid hard work or commit to discipline, however I really just want to see results because I need to keep my motivation fueled, and I'm losing interest in working out and dieting because I'm not seeing the results I'm looking for. I'm wondering if I have a thyroid problem, or my metabolism is screwed up or something.

Please help me out and let me know if there's something out there that can help my body burn fat, I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks.

I used test/t3/var for an incredible cut recently. However I only did it because I'm a trt patient so it's easier for me to cycle. Drugs aren't necessary for cutting. I do believe test is the best cutting tool though because cutting is so catabolic you'll look much better holding onto the muscle with test.

it's a long story. last may, I may have had an appendicitis attack, but never went to the doctor. I laid in the bed for at least 3 days, not eating, drinking or any bowel activity either. I lost a bunch of weight then.

in September, just arriving in Kabul, I got real sick, and lost a bunch more weight.

In December, I had another appendicitis attack, but this time I went to the hospital and it burst while I was waiting for an operation. Stayed 4 nights in the hospital and lost a bunch of weight then too.

All in all, I dropped about 50 pounds.

This is the lowest I've weighed in about 15 years.

I got you beat but I'm not sure if anyone wants to try this route.

I went from 170 down to 120 in less than 2 weeks.
I was working out 6 days a week, 2hrs a day up to this point. Taking all type of OTC supplements to stay healthy.
First thing I noticed is I would take 1 bite of food and felt full, couldn't eat any more. I stated looking a little tan and then getting tired easily. I knew something was terribly wrong when one morning I noticed my biceps were almost they same size as my wrist.... Went to the doctor and he said go home, you have the flu. Waited 2 more days and went to another doctor and as soon as he walked in the room he said OH Sh*t!!! where did you sit? What did you touch? Who have you been around? I thought I was dying... I was not far off.

I had Hepatitis B. I got if from donating (yes Donating) blood. Long story. After a little over 2 week and I SLOWLY started to get better my doctor said he really though I was going to die due to my white blood cell count. It took years to really recover 100%.

Not recommended for a way to loose weight. lol

Dang guy, I'm glad you folks are back to normal. I've been on HGH/T4 for a while and I can eat just about anything and as long as I do a little cardio with my lifting, I don't gain any belly fat.

Clen worked great for me. Although I would not use it again or recommend it. Causes tachycardia for a few hours after you take it which is quite unpleasant. Also not good for the heart. Var worked very well for me in conjunction with a cutting diet and cardio.

no log, its straight forward, it either works for you or doesn't. the only negative sides I am getting are HBP and lightheadedness, but lowering the does and splitting in two has helped.

What is required to get thyroid function checked. And would it be dangerous to mess with it with drugs if it's not properly functioning?? OP, I would say get your diet in check most can lose weight the thyroid issues are not super common, by your own acknowledgment your diet isn't in check by enough to really lose the weight...what are your stats? Have you been measured properly for bf% and what changes in it have you seen?

I've never had it checked, so I can't tell you first hand, but apparently there are multiple methods for testing/diagnosing: Thyroid Testing and Diagnosis

Nah, I can honestly say that my diet is good enough that most people would lose weight. Just look at what I've posted in my diet, I'm getting plenty of protein, a good amount of carbs, fat, and fiber.

I find it frustrating that my friends barely do any physical exercise, work desk jobs, eat like crap and because they have fast metabolisms their bodies just burn away anything they eat. My metabolism is slow as balls/molasses, I have a highly efficient metabolism in the bad sense--it *really processes all nutrients, so when I want to bulk up and gain muscle it's super easy, but burning fat is almost impossible it seems.

I can do cardio all day, 7 days a week on a calorie cut and I won't lose body fat, my body will go after muscle first, it's a real bummer. Like I said, I'm a very physically active person, my job would destroy most people and I go to the gym after work and lift more heavy weights and do cardio.

No I haven't been measured properly, my buddy is a fitness instructor and I used this crappy BF analyzer and it said I was at 21%, but I think I'm a little bit less. I'm 5'11, 225lbs.

I'm not in horrible shape, but my goal is expose my abs and show defined muscle and it's just not going anywhere. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions, I'll look in to the t3. Not interested in clen as I've read and heard that it's really bad for the heart and makes your muscles ache. I've also heard that test is really good for cutting because it basically enhances the way your body processes nutrients, especially protein, which would be really great. Anything I should look out for with T3?

If you have insurance, I would suggest going to doctor and getting some bloodwork done just to make sure nothing is abnormal before you start considering thyroid hormones (T3, T4). Obviously get your thyroid levels checked, testosterone levels (free and total), estradiol (e2), cortisol... Probably a couple of more that I'm missing, hopefully someone will chime in.

eating healthy and eating to loose weight can be 2 different things. Have you ever figured out your macros for what you are eating. Sometimes diets sound good in our head but when you add everything up it isnt as good as we think on paper

Yeah my macro's aren't super precise, but I generally aim for 200+grams of protein, about 300gs of carbs, and about 100g's of fat. It fluctuates based on my activity level, I'll adjust accordingly. The thing I've never understood about TDEE is how are you supposed to know how many calories your body requires, I mean some people have super fast metabolisms and will lose weight if they eat below 3500-4000, while others can't eat more than 2,000--it's a pretty imprecise method of determining your TDEE. I wonder if those calorie trackers like fitbit/bodybugg are any good.

^^^^TRUE!!!!! A clean diet isn't the same as a plan for losing weight. If you are eating at or above your TDEE, you will find very little change in bf. The last time I changed my nutrition plan to drop bf, I felt like I was severely under feeding myself. I find cutting takes much more nutritional effort than bulking or maintaining.
