Do you have to compete to take steroids?

Just wondering what your guys' thoughts were. Should you have to compete to cycle? Thanks

    Sorry made this post twice.

What I mean by this is do you think it's fine to use steroids and not enter competitions. I understand the untested leagues pretty much mean you have to take them to compete. But I mean just doing it because you feel its what you want to do, not because you want to win a comp?

Do you mean "do you have to take steroids to compete"

The answer is no but if you are trying to compete in NPC then your chances of being anywhere near the top are slim. Your best bet would be to compete in a natural league. :-)

If you compete, you can't take steroids , you have to be natural like Phil Heath, you get drug tested

Someone once told me that even the natural leagues don't test to hard and that the only thing they test for when they do decide to test is for diuretics. Anyone know how accurate that is?

It depends on the sanctioning body. Some polygraph and piss test all division top placers. Some only piss test overall winners and I know many competitors in those can time their gear usage to have it clear their system before the show.

Polygraphs are bullshit though. They'll never prove anybody cheated with one (unless they use it to get somebody to confess).

I think the sport has gotten so competitive, and there are so many cheaters, that it is very difficult (not impossible) to not cheat.

in fact, the rank and file body builders, the percentage of these people taking is probably more than not.

and my humble opinion is anyone on TRT is not natty. Which is a majority of the older body builders.

again, imho, the term "natty" is vague. just like the term "organic" is vague at the grocery stores. Organic only means that if chemicals are used, it has to be on the approved chemical list. Same with natty.

Anyways, they should test everyone. Not for a legal reason, simply for health. And ban everyone with distended gut. Again, they should do that for health reasons (and for aesthetical reasons too).
I mean, if bodybuilders are tested after competition, they have to be clean at that point. At least, they will be forced to cycle off.
