Effects of steroids on the prostate
This is just a basic guide to some of the risks on prostate health associated with AAS.
Before we go into the effects that AAS have on the prostate I think it would make sense to explain what the prostate is.
The pro state is a gland that sits between the bladder and the penis. It is responsible for secreting prostate fluid, which is one of the components of semen. The urethra runs through the centre of the prostate, from the bladder to the penis letting urine flow out of the body. Now although this sounds quite graphical it’s essential to understand what it does and what happens when it’s affected. The muscles of the prostate gland also help propel this seminal fluid into the urethra during ejaculation.
AAS stimulates the androgen receptors in the prostate and thus causing it to swell. This can be of some concern, once the prostate starts to swell it can make urinating and ejaculating more difficult. It does this by putting pressure on the bladder and urethra which in turn may increase the urge to urinate. If you can’t empty all of your bladder it could also lead to urinary tract infections and even bladder or kidney stones. There a few different ways to identify if you have prostate issues. The most common being a frequent need or difficulty to urinate (this could also well be painful). It’s important to do a urine sample to see if there is any trace of blood (this could indicate an enlarged prostate), apart from that you could have a doctor do a physical examination of your prostate (rather you than me) and a blood test to measure the level of PSA (prostate specific antigen) in your blood.
I also came across a study where nandrolone deconate (deca ) was given to rats for 14 weeks. Then the were taken off the deca and monitored for a further 14 weeks. After the 14 weeks of withdrawal, the prostate was studied and the mean prostate weight decreased approximately 39% in nandrolone decanoate treated rats. the conclusion was that nandrolone decanoate causes atrophic changes in the components of rat prostate.Last edited by Marcus G; 04-28-2017 at 02:36 PM.

"Despite high doses of steroids, our bloodwork reveals zero impact of steroids on our prostate... and we took all different kinds of steroids.
Just another lesson that some people are sensitive to certain drug side effects and some are not. Everyone is different. So to read or assume that steroids will impact you in one way or another is often incorrect."

You mentioned in PM that Deca in studies have been shown to maybe reduce
Prostate enlargement. Can you expand on that Marcus? That has my curiosity spurred.“If you can't explain it to a second grader, you probably don't understand it yourself.” Albert Einstein

I believe the reduced trophic potential of 19-nors on prostate tissue to be a huge point in favour of them,
myself I sense the need to be more careful because of family history of prostate ca while BPH is ubiquitous among male members.
Sure there is much more research to be done on the matter instead of labeling AAS as pure evil because of misuse.

I would advice against trying to inject the AAS directly into the prostate,
apart from that, do bloodwork and check PSA,
(It's not a good marker though, so some actual ultrasound once a year or so might be an unpleasant but prudent option if you feel any symptoms.)
CIalis helps. It does.
And steroids that have low androgenic ratings (or concert to mild androgens like nandrolone ) could also be a good idea.
If BPH begins I'd be careful with the heavy androgens, keep E2 in check also (it plays a part it seems), and rely on high anabolic low androgenic cycles.

Proscar/ finasteride might also be looked into.
It's a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor.
So it would make testosterone less harsh,
but actually make nandrolone harsher on the prostate.
But for the most part it would make androgens milder in the prostate if they are able to 5a reduce.
