    Question To Anyone Who Boxes

I've had two shoulder surgeries to repair my rotator cuff in my right arm. I'm sure if you box you've probably become accustomed to hearing about injuries like this. I've always been told by friends of mine who box, and actual boxing trainers that my body type is 100% ideal for the sport and I'd be a natural. I decided that I want to pursue this, but I have two questions. What do you think the chances of reinjuring my rotator cuff are? Are there any ways to help prevent it? And can someone learn boxing learning just once a week?(i goto school, gym, and work so i rarely have time for too much more)

Not to be an ass or anything, but why dont you talk to your buddies or the trainers you know?? they should know the right answer for sure or consult a doctor. I know nothing about boxing when it comes to your question but thats the first thing that came to my mind. Good Luck bro.

First see a doctor secondly how old are you and no going once a week wont teach you shit. You kinda come across as arrogant no offense its a science and takes years to become good against other trained boxers.

#1 I'm just telling you what people have told me. If you're 6'9, and can run like lightning, and jump like crazy, and someone tells you you'd be great at ball does that make you arrogant? I'm 5"6 5"7 135 pounds, 8% bf, with supposedly good footwork, so people told me I'd be great at boxing. Thats not my problem, it was said to me. And secondly I've asked my friends about the rotator cuff thing and they know nothing of it; also, I'd rather not ask my doctor because usually doctors are overly cautious.

OK chances are you will hurt your shoulder again, if your doing it cause you want to learn it great, the chance of competeting is a hard one becouse most boxers start around 10 seriously pursueing a career. if you want to learn it going once a week you will pick up some things. Also how can the measure you footwork if you have never boxed, just curious.
