Rich Franklin in big trouble
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xicEB...elated&search=
I really hope that he is taking this fight very seriously cause Anderson Silvia is the toughest challenge he has to date.
Is last lost was against Mochida in 2003 for Rich.
Its quit sad that the rest of the card sucks big time cause i would order the ppv.

Im not gonna say who i think is gonna win this one but i want Rich to win. This is going to be a big test for him. I get to see pretty much every UFC event for free so im gonna watch it.

Hard to choose a winner. Both have some pretty lethal weapons. Dont know if Rich has faught someone this quick but he seems to adapt well to each opponent. Going to be a great fight, too bad you cant say the same about the rest of the card. Could be worse, we could be forced to watch more Ortiz/Shamrock fights. Good thing they are giving #3 away for free =)

I wonder if Rich is going to drop to one knee at the beginning? At least that is what advice he gave on the Ultimate Fighter last week.

I didnt catch that, what was he getting at? Why take a knee?

I don't know but that is the advice he gave one of the fighters on Ultimate Fight last week. One of the fighters was going to fight someone that was real quick and that had a good kicking game. Rich told him when they started the fight to drop to one knee and he could not kick him. They laughed Rich right off the show. It was a big joke to all the fighters but Rich took it real serious.

Rich is gonna have to rely on his wrestling to get Silva out of his standup rythum but with Silva having his new and improved BJJ, he could pose trouble there as well.
Pics of Rich training for the fight (notice the extensive ground work being done):

The 5th picture of him sparring says it for me!! Anderson will see a right hand dropped like that as a left high kick opportunity!!! Habits in sparring= habits in fights!! jmo

Yeah, but pics are hard to gauge something like that. We don't know what all is going on there to see if he does this consistently or if he is "training" some new stuff etc.

All in all its gonna be a great fight, dont get me wrong i really like Franklin has a fighter and he looks to be a great guy too, its just that Anderson Silva is such a great fighter, and so damn fast.

Great pics...I think Franklin's got this. It'll be a tough fight though, probably his toughest yet.

Not to be taken as a direct Rich attack. It was just a lame suggestion from a world champion. Even when Serra asked the other trainers they laughed about it. Not what an newb needs to be hearing from a vet.

He didn't ask the other trainers as I remember just his other cast mates and stop and think if he a close distance and he was on/near the fence it could work but he said play with it not do it as in incoperate bits or peices of it.

He asked Randy Cotour bro. Randy said naw and laughed about it. Still have it recorded on DVR. I have just never seen Rich do it at the start of a fight and you figure his advice would be more based on actual experiences with moves. I am not saying it won't work ever, I was just stating that it is some lame advise coming from a champ.

I agree completely that is not good advice just saying they turned a mole hill into a mountin, also rich who is predominantly a striker would not do something that would put him at a disadvantage but I agree not good advice just saying they turned a mole hill into a mountin

Common bro, he did'nt mean that sh*t.. Rich looked so lost in that episode.. He was prob. saying to himself "Why am i even here".. Ratings that's why.. Dana White only cares about ratings..
RIch Franklin will get the W on Saturday, hands down..Last edited by D-Bo Dre; 10-10-2006 at 09:58 PM.
