    Wrestling Muay Thai Weight Training

hi guys its been awhile since i post something, i have a couple of questions... would it be wise to train weights afetr wrestling? i have time problems and i was considering to do a cycle in a few weeks because i lost size and strength while cutting weight and i like bb too.. i was thinking of doing some circuits after wrestling/muay thai. i train 5 days a week so i'll do weiths 2 days on 2 off... or should i stick to training weights in the morning and wrestling/muay thai in the afternoons? i know it sounds better i've been doing this but i feel i dont give the best to each one 'cause i try to conserve my energy and also it's been interfering with college and work so i need some sleep and rest too...would i still gain muscle (while cycling) doing weights after training for an hour or more wrestling?

    thanks in advance,

    gabriel

quick question: what is your goal? do you plan on fighting? you have two very different styles there: wrestling and mauy thai... wrestling i think weight and circut training is VERY important - even throw in some cycles of AAS... for muay thai i don't know... i have been training MMA for almost a year, and have been doing muay thai 3-4 times per week, we do pushups/situps/use our partner's body weight BUT no weights... for grappling and bjj we do plyometrics and use our partners weight to carry them around when we run on the matts, etc...when i think of muay thai i think of small & lean... not bulky as in wrestling

i do a class THEN cardio... i need to give 110% for the class not halfass it after getting tooooo much cardio before... everone is different, this is how i train and it works for me... also think about drinking something with maltrodextrose or other simple carb to give you energy during your workouts... if you workout for more than 45 min. it can really help maintain your energy and focus

i will get off my soap box now

wrestling requires alot of energy and strenght... muay thai requires alot of conditioning and stamina. Both are gonna deplete you to the point where working out after isn't going to give you any size increase. If you are doing it just for strength... kew go for it... other wise, i'd try to work out in the am and do the rest in the after nooon or visa versa.

thanks for your response but i also explained that i like BB too and yes i train for fighting(mma)/self defense so i need to focus on every aspect so if i need weights for the wrestling part of my training i'll need the for striking and grappling, besides i like BB i also train for strength and potency.

i think that i'll stick with the weights in the am during my cycle and after it i'll go with them after training for mantainance.
