Dana White hates his life.
He never expected Franklin to lose, especially not like that. He has his favourites and Franklin was one of them, as well as Hughes. You know Dana wanted to keep the belts around American fighters waists, and ESPECIALLY keep the belt away from an ex pride fighter like Silva. This will only make things worse for Dana in the pride vs UFC battle. Also its hard to market a champion like Silva considering he doesn't speak english.

Well Arloviski spoke very poor english and was more popular then Sylvia they could market Anderson very well I think

This is true. Silva did not talk shit, spoke from the heart and the emotion after the win was something the fans can grab on to. If anyone was to beat Franklin, Silva is a good person to become champion.

i think people make too much over marketability based on ______. the spider is one of the most beloved mma fighters to true fans for many reasons- great standup, not stop action, slipperiness, and hell the boy can dance! i'd much rather see him champ than franklin's arrogant ass. now bring on lindland the true contender!

Still doubt we will see Lindland around and we damn sure know Silva is'nt scared of Lindland. The UFC just does'nt like Lindland but then again, he might pop up sooner or later.
Anderson has never talked trash about anyone and rarely gets heated except for the Lee Murray fight at Cage Rage. He carries himself like a true champion and he is as marketable as anyone regardless if he speaks English or not, how come Wanderlei, CroCop, Shogun, Fedor are so popular in Japan when none of them speak Japanese? Get my drift..it's all about getting the fighter out there to the fans letting them know who he is etc.***No source checks!!!***

its because pride is much bigger in japan than ufc is here.... long ago when ufc got taken off the air they lost a lot of steam.... ufc isnt nearly as big as pride is in japan... plus marketing for fighting is bigger over there... the way pride got so big was pro wrestling was huge over there and in the beginning they put the famous japanese pro wrestlers in the ring to fight in pride and it grew from there... pride is just bigger, look at the arenas they fight in for example
