Who is your favorite "could have been" or "almost was"
The fight game (and professional sports as a whole for that matter) is a tough racket.... People come and go, fortunes are made and squandored, careers began and ended in a matter of months.
So my question is this....
Who is your favorite "could have been" you know the guy that there is no telling how good they could have been if they just didn't murder that last stripper or whatever. Anyone in professional sports will do....
Mine is Ike Ibeabuchi... one of the most talented boxers of our generation who is now serving 30 years for kidnapping and aggrevated assault in Nevada.

Great question, I would have to say Mike Tyson. Even though he was an accomplished champion he was very young when he went to jail for rape and was never the same when he came out. When Tyson got rid of Rooney for King his skills slowly deteriorated and he never rose to the same stardom he had accomplished prior to King. I think if Tyson stayed out of trouble and stuck with Rooney he be one of (if not the) greatest boxing legends.

If your going that route with Tyson, then you could also do the same with Ali. He went to jail during his prime and who knows if ANYONE would have beat him if he didn't.

Bo Jackson had the most potential I've ever seen and didn't do much, so he gets my vote too. Len Bias also had unlimited potential.
