What was Matt thinking?
Why the hell did he stand up with GSP? I just got done watching the video and it was like he was waiting to get KOd. His stand up is horrible and he knew he was getting his ass kicked on his feet. It's so weird, because he has defended his belt so many times but this one he looked scared... the same way Franklin looked against Silva, just totally outclassed from the start. Even parts where Matt should've been able to finish a take down, he just looked not into it and GSP was quick on him. I saw Matt laughing too! He knew he was getting his ass kicked!
GSP's standup is wicked and his ground game is insane too. Did you see those "groin" kicks. Nowhere near the balls! It was like Matt got hit, scared, and just sat down like a little boy. I'm dissapointed by Matt but impressed by GSP... good fight in the beginning though, then it just gets one-sided.
Post rants.

i'm glad it happened...that dude is a dip shit. I'm glad gsp owned him. No room for doubt. Everyone knows you have to really clearly take it to the champ in any sport to win favor.

Those kicks were at his balls We have Tivo it was pretty apparent. But yeah Matt stood with him cause matt has always wanted a knockout. Its not his game I cant understand why he didnt stick to his game. You see this happen all the time. a la randy couture chuck liddel's last fight. No way should anyone ever stand with him. But what ever it was kinda good to see a new champ. And how about another great sleeper by Tim Sylvia, I hate watching his fights.

i dont know if it was fixed or not. but the way matt was fighting you would have thought it was. he did look scared. i think in the middle of the first round matt new he was going to get his ass kicked. i like gsp better anyways. he appreciate's the belt.

Matt was a legend in the game, but its GSP's time now to rule the WW division. Right now he is at the peak of his game at 24 or 25yrs of age and their isnt anyone who can beat him. But lets face it, Matt Hughes got his ass kicked lol

Hughes stood with GSP because he had no choice, GSP defended every shot Hughes tried.
I said it on Sherdog radio maybe a year ago that GSP would be the champ, so many doubted that.
It appears i was right.***No source checks!!!***

Good call. Makes me wonder why people would have doubted the possibility of GSP beating Hughes. It was clearly the inexperience which caused the first loss, but thats why you lose, to help you learn.

Definitely connected with the nuts...although I doubt GSP was doing it intentionally. Just a good inside leg kick that Hughes moved into.
How anyone could have doubted him in the first place is beyond me. Hell, he was winning the first fight until he got caught in that armbar...otherwise he could have very well won that fight.

I seen those kicks in slow motion, yes the toes hit the balls because they slid up the leg, but they have steel cups on, it was in no way a direct hit, even John McCarthy said they slid up, GSP wasnt doing it on purpose, I think that Matt was surprised as hell that he couldnt take him down, when he tried he ate knees from the thai clinch, and he had a good hold on gsp once but gsp was just too strong for him, he looked alot bigger than Matt, he was huge for 170 lbs, I dont think matt can beat gsp, he's 33 and gsp is only 25, Matt isn't going to get any better and gsp will keep improving for another 5 years or so, i think he will have the belt for a while.

I agree. GSP should have won the first time, but Hughes' arm-bar was pretty sweet.
Second time GSP was back with a vengeance. It was as pathetic as when Hughes beat Gracie.
Think Hughes will nad up for a third?

GSP was winning the first time and got arm barred outta nowhere. THis timev HUghes got was he deserved,, i hate that honkey. Looking forward to Tito ANd Chuck,, heh cuz i trained with chuck,, he wheres black nail polish on his toes hahaha lol.
Guaranteed there will; be a GSP vs HUghes 3 cuz thats all they got is rematches hah. UFC's got nothing on pride in terms of skilled fighters,, popularity in North America on the other hand UFC's got that battle won.

I predict the third will be a better fight, but GSP will still dominate. He is just genetically superior.
As for Tito v. Liddell, that's going to be fantastic. I really like Liddell because he so darned deceptive. I can't believe some of the people he's picked apart.
Nevertheless, I think Tito is ready for him this time. Tito is looking good. Not that Shamrock is any benchmark, the old fool.

True. BJ is a trip. The dude is talented, but has no motivation. I think he ought to get his test levels checked.
Anyone know what the heck happened to Vitor Belfort? I know his sister was kidnapped a few years ago. He's tried to fight a couple of times since, but was not himself.
The guy is potentially awesome.

After Vitor lost to Hendo in pride he tested positive on a drug test. I don't know what substance failed him. He looked really soft when he fought Hendo. He used to come into every fight looking ripped and in great shape. Not so much anymore.

Im not a Hughes fan, but the man has to be respected. How many, something like 45 fights? He is no push-over nor an unskilled fighter, its just the evolution of the sport, eventually there will always be someone better .

Vitor was completely dominated in that fight, mentally and physically.

vitor = cancrusher. he's only won one quality opponent, really young wandy (the herring decision was the biggest gift i've ever seen).

In Vitor's ever-so-slight defense, I did think he won that fight against Tito.

Thank god someone else actually watched the fight with the TV turned on.
Vitor was ****ing screwed in that decision IMO. Vitor gave up the 3rd round due to exhaustion but he still fought well. He won rounds 1 & 2 no doubt.***No source checks!!!***
