    UFC Changed

I dont watch ufc or any fighting really. I dont follow it or anything.
I know this may sound VERY stupid. But im just wondering why the UFC changes so much over the years. Like it seems back in the day it was more hardcore and real. Now it seems to be getting too techincal and less of a "kick the shit out of the guy" street brawl. You never see the big fat guys or the biker look a likes anymore either lol.

    Watch these two old ones.

Well its not less hardcore, it is the fastest evolving sport in the world. To become sanctioned you need rules. Do people still get "shit kicked"? Yes. Why you dont see bar brawlers or bikers anymore? Simplythey do not have the athletiscm or the skills to compete.

Thats your conclusion right there, if you had been keeping up with it over the years then you would have realized how important it was for it to evolve into the technical sport it is today. Many friends who find otu i train in MMA and they have only seen the old UFC's always tell me "the old ones were better cause they were hardcore!" , well thats not a very good conclusion if you havent watched any of the "new ones" cause any rubbish fighter today could take the "old" UFC style tournament with a hand tied behind his back!

The events are sanctioned and they need the state sanction in order to be respected and legitimized. Nobody wants to compete with hair-pulling and groin punching allowed.

Exactly, these guys nowadays are so much superior than the old fat biker guys who wouldn't last one round with the worst fighter now. They needed the rules to get sanctioned and make it more of a sport that technique and ability wins fights, not just two fat boys slugging it out.

Too true. It never gets old seeing tank abbot get beat up and submitted by moderatly talented fighter.
