Why no publicity for cro-cop?

For a couple of weeks now we have known cro-cop is coming to the ufc, but there has been surprisingly little publicity to introduce him to ufc fans. When they announced his signing at UFC 66, they wouldn't even show his picture. Joe Rogan barely spent 10 seconds talking about him. Today (3 weeks from his debut) is the 1st day there was even a picture of him on the ufc website. Rampage has been all over the place. I'm left wondering why the biggest signing in ufc history is being so under-publicized. Could Dana White be purposefully under-publicizing cro-cop so fans won't look him up on the Internet and see he fought for pride?

Well the UFC stole one of prides biggest stars. Do you think they are going to give them tape to use? K1 isn't going to give them tape either. Thats why, the ufc wont under hype him at all.

That makes sense, but that doesn't explain why they haven't publicized him on the web site, or why they only devoted 10 seconds of dialogue about him at ufc 66. 10 seconds for the ufc's biggest signing ever, doesn't make much sense.

I see where you are coming and to a point it doesn't make sense. However Dana keeps racking in the money(at most fighters expense) so I am sure he has something up his sleeve.

im sure there will be plenty of hype after his first fight. dana will do whatever it takes to keep pride under the radar of his ufc fans.

I think they are going to let his actions do the promoting for him. This guy is going to surprise the majority of UFC fans who have NEVER seen him fight. They are going to be amazed at his athleticism and talent compared to what they have seen in the HW division thus far.

WTF is up with the UFC website as far as Mirko goes? They list his first name as Mirko and last name as Cro cop Do they not know that he has a last name of Filipovic.

I fully expected to see CC, Heath Herring, and 'Page walking down the aisle to be formally introduced at UFC 66 but we get nothing except for an animation of the Croation flag...WTF?!?!

just like guys have mentioned in earlier post. they got to promote themselfs in the ufc. if the ufc promotes them both now all thats going to do is make pride look good. all the hype,highlights and the biggest things they have done in their career have been in pride. thats what they dont want to mention.
