mma school advice
Hey guy's. I'm having a hard time figuring out which school to get started in. I've looked at a few in my area, and narrowed it down to 2. I've been to both of them and like them both. they both have excellent instructors, that really now what there doing and saying. So i guess as far as difference goes. One school is open 4 day's a week, while the other one is open 6 day's a week. There's about 40 at one on any given night and about 20 at the other. the one with 40 has a lot more fighters, than the other one. But the one with about 20 seem's to have more of a one on one atmosphere than the other. Also the one with 40 say's that you have to be there for at least 8 month's before u step in to the cage, or ring, while the other kind of let's you and the instructor decide. But some of the guy's are fighting 3 to 4 months after. i thought some of you guy's could give me some advice on how you would look at it and approach it. any advice is helpfull.

hmm i'd do the 2nd one...because to put a "time limit" on something is retarded. 8 months aint enough training to step in a cage IMO. Your instructor and you should come to the time when you are ready...not let the time decide.

That was my first thought. And probabaly my biggest concern in regarding the two schools.

in my experience if you train somewhere with more people who fight professionally youll get better faster. its a huge confidence builder, but you get banged up more imo, if its your goal to fight you should be training with fighters. if you want to learn and get some good cardio then go to the other place.

well actually... yes and no... some times you are better off training w/ pro's but some schools tend to pay more attention to the pro's than the students

Theres a lot of politics in MMA, try em out for a few days (they should have free sessions or something). Id stick to more one on one than just going through the motions. And the 8 month thing is ridiculous. Wut if an experienced guy just switches schools, would he have to wait 8 months? The one on one time is where it takes your game to a new level.
