How to get sponsered with MMA?
I was wondering if anyone was a sponsered mma fighter and knew how to go about seeking some kind of sponsership. I am also wondering if it is somehow against the rules to be sponsered and fight amateur. With the upcoming fight I thought it would be nice to get some free clothes or make a few bucks since the fight is at such a large venue. Its the MMA Genesis fight in St. Louis, MO on march 24. I think the est. crowd is 4-8,000 and its a really well produced, televised event...surely some company or dotcom would want their name on my shorts. maybe even allsports nutrition or something

no it's not against the rules to get sponsered as an amature. So long as you don't get PAID for a fight. Just make a good video of you training and competing...then send that to fight related companies (small) and you might get there interest.

You can be sponsored no problem like Zimmy said, in the small/medium leagues nobody cares what you have on your shorts or t-shirt or who you thank at the end of the fight.
Once you make it to the big league like UFC/WEC/Pride then you really wont have to worry about sponsors because these events will hook you up themselves. You will actually have to be careful not to have a sponsor they dont approve off or else they will kick you out...like they did to Lindland..but he was boring and not maketable too so that was another reason.
