Eighteen months ago, I penned an article in regards to the passing of Leavander Johnson as a result of his ill-fated fight against Jesus Chavez ( Click Here for Full Story). As a fan and friend, I elected to accept at least partially responsibility for his death, regretting having never voiced my opinion as to when he should've called it a career.

I was the first – and to my knowledge, only – person in the boxing industry to not blame anyone other than myself. Others went out of their way to assign blame, including the IBF for elevating him through the rankings and allowing him to win a world title.

Basically, anyone other than those actually involved in Johnson's career, including Johnson himself.

Here we go again.
