ever noticed?
So i have had the flu for the past 3 days... so i been at home watching all my prides and ufc's :P
And it's pretty obvious to us jiu jitsu guys that people who are train at some of these mma schools have sloppy submissions... and poor ground game fundamentals... but then i thought bout it and i guess jiu jitsu guys have some pretty bad technique / sloppiness when it comes to striking.
I was trying to think of some one who is great both standing up and on the ground.
who do you guys think fits that bill best?

Anderson Silva, Nick Diaz, I dont think Diaz's style is pretty but it seems solid and it sure as sh*t seems to work.

Absolutely phenominal BJJ skill and great striking ability.
Those who say Randy Couture are confusing BJJ and Wrestling. Zimmy asked who has the best striking & BJJ (I know he said "ground" skills but I am pretty sure he means BJJ skills) skills.
Randy does not fit in this category.
Randy is a Greco guy with decent striking.Last edited by Panzerfaust; 03-11-2007 at 06:04 PM.

lol yah i meant bjj sorry... though randy is definately skilled at wrestling and obviously striking now :P
I think maybe pople (even those who know bjj ok) don't do submissions because there is risk involved. Playing it safe and such. Dunno... any who... nice comments
It's people like bj penn that trip me out. Looking at him, i woudln't be thinking knock out power... where do they get it from :\

I kinda disagree with the silva thing... yes he is a black belt...but what has he done on the ground ? I mean same goes for the axe murderer. I just don't see them very active on the ground *shrug*
