Floyd Mayweathers diet during camp for the DLH fight..

Mayweather stays healthy with a balanced three meals-a-day schedule. Among his favorites are turkey bacon, chicken, potatoes and a variety of vegetables. Although it’s good to have a cook, Mayweather also admits he doesn’t shy away from his favorite “bad” foods either which include: Popeye’s Chicken, pizza and his favorite vice—good ole fashion candy.

“I can go to camp and I’m still gonna drink soda, I’m still gonna eat cookies, I’m still gonna eat pizza and I eat lots of candy, licorice, lots of licorice. There ain’t nothing about me fake. I’m still gonna train hard. This ain’t Rocky; this is real life.”

Damn... imagine the physical shape that Floyd could come in, if he actually got on a strict diet???

Im starting to think that ODLH may be a little bit too big for Floyd. At the last weigh in, Oscar weighed in at 164, Floyd weighed in @ 152. They are scheduled to fight at 154.

^^^ very intresting on how mayweather will handle the weight but with Roger and Mayweather Sr on his side he should own ODLH.
Mayweather is going to train hard and will be accustomed to the new weight come fight time. ODLH unfortunately wont be able to catch him and will get a lesson

I never understood that about athletes in general, even though you could perform while eating crap, why would you, If I could make the same gains I have over the years I still wouldnt eat more crap than I do now.

because at the pro level we were(are) more concerned about performance than looks. body builders are looking for a specific look. dieting properly is a tremendous chore as many of you guys know. personally training 11 months of the year, a dozen or so preseason games, 80 regular season games, then playoffs. with practice, weight training, travel and all the other b.s. thrown in there i just couldnt care less about my diet. we were always fed very well at the facilities but after a morning skate, when all i wanted to do was take a nap, mickey d's looked pretty good!!!! many of my athlete freinds are the same way. i doubt my career would have turned out any different based on what i ate. i loved to eat and it wasnt always healthy. i wont even start on the booze. lol

^^ Well yeah I can respect that its all about performance but I think the two go hand in hand, kinda like you are what you eat type thing.

BUt, I know what you mean, I was infact drinking an iced mocha when I typed the previous, ironic,

its just that it would seem to come really natural to pro/college athletes to eat healthy, I guess it's kinda a sterotype.

theres nothing wrong with bad food, every once in awhile and eating right can be a chore, I guess eating right is hard to do for everyone no matter how good they are......

It just goes to show you how much superior pros are to reg guys.

But you would think that being in training camp for a world championship fight, that diet would be an important part of the process... I can see getting away with it in other sports; but when preparing your body for 12 rounds of combat??

I think he may be taking DLH a little too lightly (or atleast that is the way it appears).

i lived with a 2 time heavyweight champion for a year. i have been around world champions in all weight classes. iv'e seen guys drinking while training, doing dope and certainly not eating "corectly". as long as they put the time in in the gym talent seemed to rule out in the end. young up and coming fighters? i would go absolutely by the book but the guys at the top can get away with more than ya think.

I was a professional football player for a while and you'd be surprised what some of these big time athletes did off the field. Granted football players don't need to be in shape the way a boxer would, but these are still high dollar super studs with loads of athleticism.

I can understand that... especially when preparing for a fringe fighter. but when you are training for the biggest fight of your career, against the best fighter (without question) that you have ever fought... Dont you think a clean diet could matter? Just a little? lol-

I know it is allot easier to get away with it at the HW level... But when you are fighting in the lower weight classes (against a naturally bigger guy)... Im just saying.

I think some of u are missing what floyd said. He still eats good just has what bodybuilders call cheat days. as long as he makes his weight whats the problem? have u ever seen one of his workouts. i bet with the candy he eats he could out work all of us on our strictest diets. Sometimes people take that garbage in garbage analogy to far. hard work will always over throw alittle candy.

It's going to be tougher for DLH to drop 10 than for mayweather to pick up two.

When i was boxing i had to be on close to 8000 cals daily to maintain weight.. in the 130's.

Ive been readingt your post and must say I agree with you allot, however.."starting to think DOLH may be a little too big for Floyd " I have to disagree with. Oscar has to loose those 10 pounds..Mayweather is 152 and already comfortable and at ease without having to put his body through the shock of loosing weight then eating right before the fight.
