    Smoke and Mirrors

Like a magician using his sleight of hand, many in boxing are a***t in creating illusions. Before you know it, you start to believe whatever it is they want you to believe. Blinded by the smoke and betrayed by the mirrors, you no longer are sure of what is real and not real. Once the boxing magicians get started they can make you believe almost anything. Like Julio Cesar Chavez going unbeaten in 91 fights and lineal championships that can be traced to the beginning of time. It’s easy to get caught up in the hype but the truth leaves a trail. Let’s follow it.

Maybe why boxing is getting slowly choked out by MMA. I don't think boxing will go away but it will never have the spotlight that mma currently has. Lets just hope professional mma orginazitions keep crap like this from happening.

It's already happening in MMA. Let's look at last nights fights (TUF finale). They had a guy fighting who was undefeated but he lost on TUF. But they claim the TUF fights don't count as professional loses even though all those guys are professionals fighting with professional rules and under professional sanctions.

And as linear champs go, there are several MMA organizations with different weight classes and different champs. Now that Frank Shamrock just won, he is the 185lb champion in his organization, but we will never see him fight Silva for the recognize UFC 185lb title. Pulver is going into the WECs 145lb division. A division that doesn't even exist in the UFC. So there will always be this in all fight sports.

Boxing is losing to MMA because many more people are familiar with the goings on in boxing. The casual fan thinks all MMA is UFC, once they realize that MMA suffers from the same politics as boxing you will see the shine diminish from MMA as well.
