    Im with zimmy and (1*).

    I dont think Diego can hang with BJ. Diego is an active and agressive fighter and I think BJ will slow him down and make him look as if he is off or is sick or injured and bet you will hear it after too...

    BJ will rock Diego...He is definately taking his training very seriously judging by his latest interviews- sounds like he has decided to devote himself to it.

    Also, I just realized that Diego HAD been rumored to fight Mach Sakurai at 74...hopefully he makes his debut int he UFC sooner rather than later.

    I wouldn't count Sanchez out so fast saying he would get dominated. He hung with Marcelo Garcia in a grappling match at ADCC. I give Sanchez the benefit of the doubt for his last loss, he is still young and the rumor was Dana was about to announce his retirement and he had Staph infection before the Kos fight. All those emotions might have gotten to such a young fighter before the biggest fight of his career. He is one of my favorite fighters, because he always brings the intensity and definitely didn't look like himself in his last fight.

    i'd take bj in that fight and i would hope he would whoop diego ( i cant stand him) but id rather see him fight mach sakurai cause that would be another great fighter from japan added in the mix of the ufc and pride merge. ive said in other threads i want gomi, kid and mach in UFC badly

    why not? Unless Diego starts losing and spins another direction... it is inevitable. Diego only has 1 loss...more wins than him... if he wants to be the big dogg, then he needs to put out any up'n comin stars... that's the way it works for everyone. i don't see it moving in the wrong direction... I think that maybe they are holding off on it to make it more of a main event instead of doing it on this card...maybe like this??... have Diego rebound from loss with a couple victories, then cash in on a big one.???

    ^^Agreed. Diego is the real deal and it definately would not be a step back.

    Diego has one loss to Koscheck- a match that he was visibly a different fighter (i.e. severe staph infection). Wins over the likes of Diaz and Karo put Diego into a position for a potential title shot.

    If BJ wants to work his way back up the WW ladder, a fight with Diego is perfect.

    I'm also not a Diego fan at all- loved seeing Kos win that fight; however, I do think that if BJ wants to get his rematches with GSP & Hughes fighting Diego is a fair place for the UFC to start him at.
