Are you off balance when you're doing this? What is the exact problem? Step and punch at the same time?

I know what you mean. Here's a quick fix, without punching try working your feet as if you were going back and to the left. Hell keep your hands at your sides and do it til you feel comfortable. When you do try to work your hand into it. I'm a big guy and foot work was hard for me to. My trainer from Flo MMA had me just work footwork for a LOOOOng time before i even started throwing punches.

I dont know, I just feel like I cant get any power into the punch at all. I mean I know it is just a jab and it isnt meant to destroy everyone, but I cant seem to get any power because of my feet.

Ok cool. Another problem I have is I dont know when I should step, and when I should slide if you know what I mean. Like when backing up I know you can either push with your front foot, or step back with your rear foot, and then slide your front back in unison. Maybe i dont know what the hell Im talking about.

You're trying to do too many things at once. Worry about moving before you worry about power. i'd suggest doing it like the old school guys where they tie a string to their feet and keep moving. I personally would use something more flexible because I wouldn't train to be a boxer but to be able to defend a shot.

My newest problem is how to throw a correct hook to the bag without breaking my arm. LOL How do I hook to the heavy bag. I have good form when shadow boxing, but not while hitting the bag.

1st things 1st, work on the foot work than the punches. Throw your punches slow on the bag 1st work on your form before power. Most of your power on your hook punches NEED to come from turning your hips and pivoting on your front foot.. otherwise your just trying to muscle your punches

Absolutely! most of your power comes from your hips and your back leg, so just work on shuffling and turning your hips before you even start throwing punches on the bag.
