Showtime should be ashamed of themselves
For not stopping that Lawler/Ninja fight WAYYY sooner. Ninja could have been killed in that lame effort to drive up their ratings.

LMAO @ "killed". Stop whinning. Yes, it was late but shit happens. They were giving Ninja the chance to weather the storm, regardless how bad it was.
Obviously he didn't make it.***No source checks!!!***

I think the ref and the commission should be responsible rather than the cable channel.

Dont get me wrong... im all for "Fighting to the death". I'd watch it. But that's not what these guys signed up for.
Showtime wants BRUTALITY. They need to sell this new product that they have invested so much money in.
You know damn well the Ref AND Fighters were told what kind of a "show" the network "expected" them to put on.
It was shameless.Last edited by Mogamedogz; 09-16-2007 at 12:27 AM.

Looks like a PRIDE type of knockout.. where they really wait for the fighter to be out cold before they stop the fight or when the fighter on the bottom goes into the "don't hit me, puss*y crouch"
I dont think Ninja was in the Pu**y crouch, and he wasnt out cold yet either, just shaken.
I think the ref was waiting till Ninja's hands overextended over his head, signaling he's out..
UFC alot of times stops fights prematurely.. I understand the annoying reason why.. but.. it is an annoyance. as many things in UFC are.Last edited by Pooks; 09-16-2007 at 08:06 AM.

Yeah, he probably stopped it a little late...

I've seen much more brutal finishes. The ref was just giving him a chance to work out of it. He was still halfway defending himself and he was in no way close to unconsciousness

Murilo Ninja never really impressed me as much as his little bro, Shogun. In this fight, though, he didn't look as good as he used to...

Ninja is pretty good, but Shogun is definatly more impressive.
A lot of the chute boxers are just not doing that well in the cage though. I don't know what to expect out of Shogun in UFC 76.
All the best strikers in Pride are loosing in UFC. Wandi already had lost to Tito, Cro Crop lost his last 2 and Ninja looses to Lawler.

You would have to have followed "Ninja" from when he started to appreciate his skill etc.
He has been ****ed out of a few decisions and his record should be better than it looks.
He dominated Henderson, Hendo being the decision queen got another gift decision. Rampage felt he got beat and even tried to give his trophy to Ninja.
He also was in some matches he had no ****ing business being in, particularly the Kharitonov fight in the HW Grand Prix 2004.
I think there are some problems at Chute Boxe, Ninja's clinch and Tai skills are nowhere to be seen unlike in the past. Same with Shogun and Wanderlei. I'm seeing more of a Jiu-Jitsu influence in their games lately than strong standup and Tai skills. Wanderlei did not throw one ****ing kick in the CroCop fight, absolutely horrible gameplan. His fight with Hendo, I'll cut him some slack, he was all ****ed up being sick.
Wanderlei left and I would put money on it that is why, there is some shit going on and training is not what it use to be. Don't be suprised to see Ninja & Shogun leaving soon.
Let's just hope Shogun can keep focused and come in at 100% this Saturday, or he will also taste defeat. He leaves for the US on Wednesday.
Something else that is interesting about Ninja, his cardio is shit compared to what it was at 205lbs where I feel he fights best. I'm wondering if that cut to 185 is killing him or what? He told me its easy now, but I don't know. Something is off.Last edited by Panzerfaust; 09-17-2007 at 11:37 AM.
