He's still respectable, can't the man make some money?
Have you seen the vidoe of the night, he actually didn't pull his punch and broke the big show's nose

Riiighhhtt, it makes sense now.. He's going broke after having two of the biggest payouts in history last year, not to mention a "tiny" fight with DLH that had total gross receipts of about $150 million that shattered every boxing box office record!
Ohh and that punch that "broke" his nose was soo convincing! Let me guess,, you thought it was real blood too huh?? lol
He's a clown plain and simple

ass clown?
Mayweather got 20 million for this whole bigshow - correct me if im wrong.
I dont know many people that would turn that down, but i will shake the mans hand who does.
and that very well could have been real blood - i mean a broken or bloodied nose doesnt seem to be out of context for a well paid entertainer/athlete.
sure wwe is not a real combat sport, and i am the first to change the channel when its on, but lets not completly discredit these guys. they are very athletic and i cant imagine bigshow cowarig away from a punch in the face from a man one third his size for a substantial pay off.
just my two cents

20 million is 20 million reasons to do something.

The reason he is being regarded as an "assclown" goes deeper than the mere fact that he is participating in this event... As a boxing fan I feel Mayweather has continuously set bad examples for other boxers or other athletes for that matter.. He has turned his position in the sport into a money driven circus side show.. "Money Mayweather" ,, is so concerned about the $green$ that he has forgotten his role as a champion fighter.. Fight the best to be the best, but most importantly advance the sport!! I won’t lie,, yeah money is a driving factor in sports, but it should NOT be the sole factor..
By doing this event he may be setting a precedent for other up and coming boxers who believe in order to get a Mayweather-like-payday they will have to either join Dancing with the stars, get slapped up on WWE, or some other ridiculous stunt.. I stand by my statement, Mayweather is a clown,, who will get served up by Miguel Cotto one day (if the money is ever right ofcourse )

I dont disagree with you in that Mayweather is a shifty son of a bitch, and he is avoiding a blemish on his record by not fighting cotto. But had mayweather not been about all the theatrics, and done all the unusual shit he had, he probably wouldnt be realing in 50 mil to fight and 20 to perform. his drive for the green will have him lau***ng long past his last round of boxing. so yes, his methods are questionable, but its clear that he is driven and has a purpose in everything he does - and im sure if any of the great boxers were given a chance to get 20 mil for something like a wwe bout, they would consider it.

mayweather is just chasing that green aint nothin wrong with that. Infact its much easier in wwe because you dont need to train as hard as boxing for it, its all about puttin on a good show , which mayweather always does.

I wont disagree with you there.. But I also believe it has more to do with the fact that there is no gray area with Mayweather.. You either like em or hate his guts.. And that alone brings in the crowds and the money..
And as far as picturing hall of famers like Sugar Ray Leonard, Ali, Frazier pulling a stunt like this?? I'm sorry, i just cant see it..

mayweather will not be gettin 20 million dollars. i really hope yall dont think that.

Ali fought the Japenese wrestling for a publicity stunt. Joe Louis actually became a wrestler at the end of his career. Mayweather is doing whatever it takes to secure his life and the future of his children and their children.
Those that hate mayweather do so because he is supposedly ducking Cotto. In his mind and the minds of those who think of boxing as a business, the risk vs reward doesn't bode well in that fight for mayweather. Once he knows that a cotto fight will net him more than a De La Hoya fight, he'll sign. He only has something to prove to those who have always hated him, therefore he can never prove worthy to those...win or lose.
