Big News in the UFC today...
Alright guys, big news on the wire...
First, because most guys here are casual fans, ill tell you about what you'd think is the bigger story.
Notice how everyone said how great Leban looked? Like hes never been so ripped, and he has abs, and he is in such great shape.
Well, surprise surprise...
He tested positive for Stanazolol. Now this isnt very shocking to me, but needless to say with the way this country behaves when someone tests positive for AAS, they made it quite a big deal.
The UFC fined him 1/3 of his purse, and suspended him for 9months. Who knows what the AC is gonna do, but so far, thats what has been reported.
Now the other news, which i think is much bigger. Is the UFC has just signed Pride Vet Denis Kang to a 4 fight deal.
Now for you hardcore guys, you know who Kang is. I personally LOVE watching this guy fight. And cannot wait for him to make his debut in the 185 division.
Anyway guys, just thought i would post this up and let everyone know whats going on...

The thing here is that the UFC did this testing since there is no Athletic Commision in the UK to speak of. This was an internal test done by Marc Ratner.
Leben came right out and admitted it, not sure what he took it for. It shouldn't have been for asthetic resulkts, he wasn't in that much better shape than he was before and certainly nothing he couldn't have achieved naturally.
Kang signing is good since the UFC MW division is appearing weak thanks to Anderson cleaning it out. Kang has been in a rough patch lately and afrter hearing him talk about this signing, he might have that fire lit under his ass to start performing like he should.
We shall see.***No source checks!!!***

kind of a side question, but I cant understand how pride went under when in Japan they would have 90,000 seat arenas packed for the fights. Plus there is 100 million plus people in japan.

i think AAS should not be banned, nor mandatory but i think all the athletes should have the option of using them if they want. just my opinion, that goes for all sports even golf.

tigers a beast.. he doesn't look like it but he can put up 300 on the bench.
i didn't see the fight, that doesn't surprise me that leben would do that. also, i don't see how sean sherk could deny using them himself so hard. even without a positive test you could suspect it looking at him. he is by far the biggest guy i've ever seen at 155.
i agree that steroids should be made legal. that way it would level the playing field for those who don't use them already. especially in baseball since it seems anyone who is anyone uses steroids.

Denis Kang finally, this guy is one of the best fighters in the 185 pounder division.
And since we dont get the japaneses MMA ppv anymore its been a while since i saw him fight.
Has for Chris Leben well i just hate this guy, and have no pitty for him what so ever, guy gets in jail, snif snif, no UFC gave me my chance and this time i wont blow it, gets cough using winstrol .
Anyone who would have taken the time to reseach the drug would have learned it stays in the body for at least one year.

yeah any decent competitor would be good for silva. although after he destroyed franklin twice i doubt it'll do much to slow him down

Hopefully Kang does well. His win over Eastman has to boost his confidence. Been a fan of his for a while hes from the same city as me here in Canada.

Great news that the UFC added a big name. I am very interested to see how the UFC decides to use him. Will they throw him to the wolves or build him up as a legit threat to Silva. I wouldn't mind seeing him go against Maia or Marquardt.
