What happend to Wandy?
He's so humble now.....
He use to be so intimidating, aggressive, explosive, just ruthless.
He's a great guy, but given that, he seems too humble to do what works for him anymore.
He puts on great fights still, exciting, but i miss the days of him staring down his opponents, clenching his hands, twisting his wrist and over whelming them. Now that's exciting to watch.
I don't mind that he's changing up his strategies, but don't change up the fighter! I was a little dissapointed to see him so humble in the Franklin fight, if he was more aggressive, like he was in the 3rd round, he could have pulled it out.

I think that he is just as aggressive but he had a ton of respect for Franklin. Look at him against Page or Jardine. I think it was a matter of respect and on top of that he is trying to fight smarter because he can't continue to pile up losses and still have a job in the UFC. That being said he will always be my favorite fighter.

He needs to hang it up imho. I hate to say it because he's one of my all time favorites.
That's just my opinion as a health issue. I'd love to keep seeing his fights, the guy puts on one hell of a show. I remember hitting my head on the roof when he smacked jardine lol

Its professional sport, he cant stay at his best prime forever, many people are quick to accuse him of being less aggressive because he cant use steroids in UFC and BS rumors like that, but the truth of the matter is you cant be a top athlete forever!
The guy gave his his absolute hardest effort in Pride and faught everyone who stepped up, the guy passed his prime thats one factor, but also there are many more which affect his motivation and performance for example:
-Relocating to USA, its new country for him and his family and it always difficult to make a big move like that.
-New gym and training partners, keep in mind when he faught Chuck he didnt even have a good training plan he just hung out at coutures gym for a few weeks to prepare for that.
-New rules, sudden addition of elbows, removal of stomps and soccer kicks which he used alot in Pride.
-Different more cruel fans who judge you harshly in USA. Your only as good as your last fight, as opposed to japanese fanbase in which you are as good as your Best fight, not your last fight.
When he was at his prime he trained with a great team in ChuteBox and great family and friends around him, mentally he was 200%, they were the guys who were with him from the begining.
I think he will never be the old Wanderlei, but he's still a legend.

Legend for sure. Even i agree with that.
But hes done. As are a lot of tough Brasileiros.
The new generation is coming though, dont you guys worry. The Americans will never dominate the way Brasileiros do.
Especially guys from Team Quest. Huh Ninja?
