    Couture vs Nogueira

so what did you guys think? nogueira won in decision but the old man(couture) looked pretty good for a 46 year old fighter. nogueira also looked great, especially on the ground. He looked horrible against Frank Mir so he really needed to do a good job last night to earn a little respect back.

Ya I guess all that training War went and put in paid off this time. Pretty crazy how much of a difference with his chin this time, he seemed not to even be hurt at all by any of Randys strikes. I wonder if Nogs looking for a re-match with Mir? I wouldnt be surprised , those Brazilians are big on pride.

On a side note I hope they make more match ups like this.

not to take anything from Big nog hee loooked great , i just think that randy underestimated him and went into the fight with a bad game plan , he shouldnt of stood in front of nogg like that ,noggs chin is like a mail box . he should of clinched more and dirty boxed more and went for more take downs , i dont think i seen him shoot at all.but the bottom line is nogg looked really good ,and randy based his game plan off of noggs last performence and tryed to ko him ...i love randy maybe he moves down at 205lbs for his last fight and fights the spider , how great would it be if he was to move down and beat him ? but it is unlinkely anderson is as close as unbeatable as you can get right now

Couture is still amazing. He's in great shape and always pushes the pace. That said I think he has lost a lot of his power and seems to get dropped easily but at 46 he is amazing. Its nice to see Nog back and I hope he destroys Mir in a rematch

^^ I second this. I was really excited to see Nog back to his old self. Now it is time for him to put the whoop ass on Mir and then challenge Brock for the belt.

if he can show up again and again like he did in the fight against randy he really and truly could take it to mir, and probably brock

AGREE WITH YOU 100% ... Iam always worried about him getting hit cause i think the fight is going to be over as soon as he gets hit

Nog looked good, but Im not sure if he can handle the big boys anymore, and coming in at 231 for couture could be right, but if hes going to face Brock, 231 aint the right weight, he will have to put at least 10 pounds more of muscle, and still will be pretty small for Brock, and is not like Nog is getting any faster either. I dont think Nog's jitz is miles away from Mir's so I dont see him subing Lesnar nor Carwin. I think he should Rematch Mir, may be fight Cain or Congo and then go for a retire fight against the champ (if he gets by them),

I think it was a perfect fight...
Couture throwing good straight punches and Nog had iron jaw....
    Go NOG

Remember man, Nog is only 33 even though he looks like he is 53. So I don't think retiring is anywhere in the near future.

I think that he has a lot of good fights left but I don't see him beating Brock. Short of Brock I think he gives any Heavy a good fight and has a great shot to win
