Okay, so Machita vs. Shogun discuss (post fight/results)
I just watched the fight.
If you are a frequent visitor to the board and have been following the pre fight "predictions" I never gave Shogun a chance after his last performances.
Shogun won that fight, and should have won it by UD. Not only did the judges give it to Machita, it was not even a split. They were way off.
Shogun won most exchanges, I swear all of Machita's internal organs are bleeding and bruised. Shogun also proved to be the aggressor the entire fight.
Shogun honestly beat Machita at his own game, he was more carful, picked better shots, had a better stratagy and executed it.
In the 3rd round, I thought Machita was about to give up from liver kicks.
I will tip my hat to Machita though, that guy took more punishment to his core than Bella Donna has in her 14 year career of double anal porn.
The worse part? I don't know that anyone else can do that to Machita. I don't think a puncher can beat him anymore, he's too good at countering. So we'll have to sit here, watch him hold this belt, that he lost last night for a long time.

I never felt for a fighter after a fight but I did last nite for Shogun. It was a very close fight, you have to beat the champ and I kinda feel if he did a little more he would have taken it. Dont get me wrong, I to believe he won, but seemed to me he felt he won enough rounds by round 5 and took it a little easier that round.
He found the way to beating Machita, smother him against the fence and strike when pushing apart. He split Machita's lip and looked like he broke his nose also with elbows off the fence. I dont know why he didnt keep doing that in the 5th round. Never thought I would see someone out kick Machita.
All in all, the look on Machita's face at the end told you he knew he lost. Great job Shogun, I didnt think he had that in him again. Never wanted to see a rematch so bad before, now I want to see Shogun as champ.

I've always thought you had to beat the champ too, but maybe I still have a bitter taste in my mouth after they gave Forrest that win over Rampage.
I generally watch the "play by play" the night of the fight, and then watch the fight online the next day.
For these 2 fights (shogun/mach & Page/Forrest) every play by play had the looser of the fighting winning.
I don't know the view the judges watch the fights at, but I hope they have replay and multiple camera views to be more careful.

I honestly thought it was a U.D. for Shogun.
Everyone at my place, for the fight, went crazy when they called out Machita's name.
I wanna review the fight today.. but I just don't get how the judges ALL scored it by one point.
That said.... Cecil Peoples is the worst UFC judge in history. lol.
Disappointing to say the least.... but on the plus side, the next broadcast UFC is free!! I had to pay $60 bucks to order it yesterday..

I also felt Shogun took that fight... I wouldn't call it a landslide or anything, but he was ahead to me..
On another note, those UFC fight commentators need to shut the fvck up with their one sided opinions... damn, you can always tell who they are cheering for and I can't stand that shit in sports. It is getting as bad as Larry Merchant commentating on a fighter he wants to win... a guys gets hit and somehow they say, "wow he is a phenomenal fighter to be able to take that hit" then he grazes the opponent and they say "woe, did you see him land that power punch"...they were doing that shit for shogun last night and it was getting me pissed. There are already enough opinions out there... I like to watch the fight and would like to hear a commentary on the fight not someones opinion. Me and my friends have enough opinions to go around my house.

It was close, but Shogun had it.
That was a bunch of bullshit.

I have to agree that Shogun won. By alot? Well, IMO he wont 4 rounds. 3 good rounds and 1 that imo he also won but was close. either way. I never saw Machida winning that fight or atleast close enough to say yeah it could of been. He lost by enough for an average noob to the sport to see it clearly. Like i said in other threads before the fight, i also as well did not give sho gun a chance in this one. And i will admit i was totally wrong. UFC is going to shit. Very sad

God I hope Shogun smashes him in a rematch. I felt he won 4 of 5 rounds. Its funny how fast people are jumping off the Machida band wagon
